OOC: FlickeringNebula, up for another session?
Since it seems hard to find Dark Forest or Starclan mentors, I'm gonna have Dawnclaw train Blizzardpaw and my new cat, Maggotpaw, together. They are both partially deaf, and I feel like they could be friends...
For some reason, I really love playing as Dawnclaw... I write her all the best paragraphs!
Also, I'm thinking this is the only thread that Dawnclaw will actually be training Maggotpaw in. Maggotpaw and Dawnclaw will reference future training sessions, but they will all happen off-screen.
(Maggotpaw is agender, so I'm using gender-neutral theys; tell me if it gets confusing or if I should use another pronoun.)
Dawnclaw of the Dark Forest
Dawnclaw didn't know why, but she seemed to have a soft spot for the deaf, blind, and disabled. Perhaps it was because they missed out on some of the finer things in life, like Dawnclaw had missed out on so much. Perhaps it was because they would readily accept her training, and would do anything for the chance to feel powerful for once. Regardless, Dawnclaw knew that it would benefit her to train more cats.
Blizzardpaw's last training session went extremely well; so, why not train another deaf cat? Dawnclaw had recently learned of a young apprentice in Leafclan; Maggotpaw. Maggotpaw was deaf, but not quite completely. More importantly, however, they had a hatred in their heart which Dawnclaw could help blossom.
"Maggotpaw, come here. And, Blizzardpaw..." Dawnclaw whispered into the apprentice's dreams. "I have someone here I'd like you to meet..."
Maggotpaw of Leafclan
"Maggotpaw, come here..."
Maggotpaw woke with a start; the voice he had heard was surprisingly clear, and sounded like whoever was speaking was right next to him. Even then, it sounded clearer than anything they had ever heard...
It took them a moment to realize that they weren't in Leafclan anymore; this place was darker than any night Maggotpaw had ever seen, and the smell was unlike any clan they had ever smelled. It was far too wet and musty, and almost smelled like rotting crowfood.
They started to explore, wondering how they had gotten here.
