Humans and demons have been at war since the dawn of time, many lives have been claimed during the war, including the mortal half demon life of shadow's only daughter. After that Shadow had lost most all respect for human life.
the war raged on until Shadow became sick of all the death on both sides, some demons became upset with her choice to end the war and continued killing the humans others here happy with the choice. Some demons even came to fall in love with the mortals and many half bred demons came to be.
after hundreds of years the war became history, then legend. As most humans forgot about it and stopped believing in the demons, some continued to believe and and some even hunted them as they knew that some demons harm and even kill people for their own enjoyment.
Shadow feared that to many demons would be harmed because of this so she only let the demons who meant no harm enter the humans territory, and when they did that they must blend in. Still some demons manage to enter the human territory and harm a human in some way.
some humans even wander into demon territory. Shadow lets them stay at there own risk, she knew many would die but it was there choice to stay. That's when the demon hunters became a problem. Shadow told her demons that if they to find a demon hunter to kill it.
Demon hunters became more advance, making things like bullets that have a poison that could kill most demons and things that shoot bolts of electricity through a demons body, for some kinds of demons like a water demon it would temporally enable then to use there powers.
Many feared the war that hunted them in the past would return, shadow most of all.
