Set just after the end of the second season, New York City's Dollhouse is new and filling its ranks with new dolls, looking for new clients and also hiring some staff. Since this is a brand new house, no knowledge of the TV series is necessary. All one needs to know is that people who need to escape the real world for their own reason, surrender 5 years of their life to the Rossum Corp. During those five years, their own personality is wiped and kept on a hard drive. They are imprinted with what is a child-like innocence. They are kept in a secret facility and when a wealthy client comes to hire an Active, this child-like persona is replaced by new skills, memories and personalities for each mission
