"Adventure, adventure, adventure!" Brackenkit mewed repeatedly as he led his sisters and Poppykit to the river. "Don't know where we're going, but it's going to be an adventure!"
"Maybe we can find Tigerstorm!" Sorrelkit squealed hopefully.
"I wish she hadn't left." Brackenkit said.
"She's probably dead!" Poppykit sneered at the other kits, finding their mother's leaving the Clan, or death, whichever had happened, to be very amusing.
"Why are you always so mean, Poppykit?" Sorrelkit snarled, bowling into the she-cat.
The two rolled in their fight, Brackenkit and Lilykit following closely, until they hit the river, where both scrambled to escape.
"Sorrelkit!" Lilykit shouted for the first time, charging to her sister, pulling her by the scruff out of the water. When Sorrelkit was out of the river, just barely, at that, she was shaking and her pelt was drenched. The brown tabby she-cat padded over to her brother and leaned on him.
Brackenkit stood with his eyes wide and jaw dropped, not knowing what to do.
"HELP ME, TOO, MOUSEBRAIN!" Poppykit screeched at Lilykit, her eyes dilated in fear. She reached out her little paws, claws unsheathed, and grabbed hold of Lilykit's tail, which she'd offered to the ginger she-cat.
Lilykit struggled forward, her tail beginning to bleed from Poppykit's claws pulling on it. However, the waves were too strong, and Lilykit was pulled into the water.
Mudpaw and Smokepaw were hunting together, having nothing better to do. Seeing the kits out of the camp made them worry, and they exchanged a glance before bounding forward and seeing what was wrong. "We have to save them!" Mudpaw said. Smokepaw nodded in agreement and the two toms recklessly leaped into the water, each one trying to grab a kit.
Even the apprentices were no match for the water, and with that, Mudpaw, Smokepaw, Poppykit, and Lilykit were carried over the waterfall.
Sorrelkit shook even more now, and not just because she was cold.
"H.. Help.." Brackenkit muttered before yowling it nonstop. "Help us! Help! Some cat help!" He, too, was trembling now, and he and now his only living littermate crouched next to each other, screeching, in hope that some cat would hear.
