Landmarks for Stormclan!
Murky Hollow
The Murky Hollow is often used for practicing or teaching offensive, defensive, and stalking techniques. The foot underground is slippery due to its location beside the bottom of a waterfall, and is unlike the dry grip some clans have, sharpening the balance of Stormclan apprentices. The Murky Hollow is also used to prepare apprentices for footing in the riverbeds. The hollow is a clearing with slick footing in the shape of a rectangle, furthest sides from each other being that of the river's edge and the safety of the forest opposite to it. The pines are thickest here and the river is able to moisten the firm, slippery ground closest to its edge. It is often seen as dangerous and many mentors start training at the end of the clearing furthest from the river and work their way over when they are confident in their apprentices.
Saltgrass Glade
In a forest clearing brimming with saltgrass, the ground under-paw is soggy yet firm, patches holding the dirt together with roots threaded greedily underground. There is a dirt patch in the center approximately two foxlengths long and one foxlength in height with a few flat rocks on its far left side mainly used for basking in the sun. This region is mainly where bedding is collected for nests and where elders spend much of their spring and summer days.
The Fissure
An earthquake split Stormclan territory long ago. Earth's deep wound runs far, equaling a length of approximately half a kilometer located near the center of their territory and stretching to the main rivers threaded through Stormclan lands. Prey loves to hide deep in the cracks and this place is usually where cats come to hunt. The Fissure cuts down into the riverbed like that of a kid drawing a line and being forced to stop at the edge of the paper. Water seeps through the natural crack about 3 mouselengths up from the river, before stopping its flood. The end of The Fissure closest to the river is usually rich with water voles and other small mammals that love the waters edge. Hunting at The Fissure takes a good deal of patient and rational techniques. If the quarry scents you, then it will never come out of its burrow!
Just an idea...I feel as though Stormclan needs more landmarks! Feedback maybe? Constructive criticism is best...
