Frostpaw stormed through his Clan's territory, not bothering to cover his trail. He wasn't hiding from anyone, and no one was looking for him. Well, he was hiding, but no one was looking for him, so it was fine if he made a trail of crush leaves and broken twigs. He paused at the river, jaws parted slightly, panting. The faint scent of Snowshadow hit the roof of his mouth, along with his own. He'd been here with her only a few days ago.
Anger boiled up inside of him, threatening to overflow. The tabby swerved, and kicked a stone into the water. He yowled in shock, and yanked back his paw, which now stung with pain. His eyes flashed, and he dug his claws deep into the earth.
"Stupid, idiot mousebrain." he hissed to himself, pacing back and forth. "What was that? You're a fool! No one cares about you, you're just a lonely, miserable kit." he paused, and looked up. Hot tears stung his eyes, and he blinked them away quickly. "Weak." he growled. "Snivelling little brat. I didn't think--shut up, shut up!" Now he was yelling at himself. His eyes widened, and he buried his face between his paws. "Shut up, I said! Go away!"

Lilypaw had followed Frostpaw around the territory, surprisingly, she hadn't been caught yet. She held her breath, wanting to yell out that she was there. She cared. She followed. She stayed silent, slowly creeping on Frostpaw, then SNAP. She stepped on a branch.

ic; Frostpaw's shoulders quivered, and he felt a hot tear run down his cheek. He squeezed his eyes shut, willing the voice to go away, but it wouldn't.
"You're a brat, you know that, right?" he grumbled out loud. "A horrible creature. Arrogant, cold-hearted little beast! No, no, no, go away! I hate you!" Frostpaw felt a sob rise in his throat, and he brushed away his tears, shaking with fear. He was talking to himself. Only crazy cats did that. And what was worse, he couldn't say anything good about himself!
Suddenly, a twig snapped. Frostpaw jerked his head and blinked away all signs of his tears. "Who's there?" he choked. "Go away!" When he didn't here the sounds of retreat, the tom growled dangerously and let his fur stand on end. "Last chance. I'm gonna rip you apart, foxheart."
As he began firing insults into the bushes, Frostpaw stalked towards the spot he'd heard the sound from. His keen eyes flickered back and forth, searching for the intruder. His jaws parted, and then he recognized a scent. No. No, no, no!
Frostpaw's mouth formed her name, but he couldn't say anything out loud. He didn't want to hurt her, but he didn't want to seem to like her, either. "Get lost." he said, forcing himself to snarl. "I don't want to see you."

Lilypaw flinched at what Frostpaw had said, but she stood her ground. "No. I will not leave. Your not alone. I care." Her voice started to crack up, and her eyes began to show fear, sadness, and warmth. Mostly warmth. She padded over to Frostpaw and tried to nuzzle him. To make him feel better.

ic; Frostpaw stepped back as the younger apprentice slipped from the shadows. He looked down, realizing for the first time how small she was compared to him. They were hardly a moon apart, but he was at least a head taller than her, probably more.
"No." Lilypaw spoke simply. No? What was that supposed to mean? "I will not leave. Your not alone. I care."
Unfortunately for her, soft Frostpaw was gone. He had that hard, stone wall around him once more, and his pale green eyes were cold. He stepped back, not allowing her to touch him. It wasn't right. She didn't care for him at all. The tabby snorted, and dug his claws into the ground.
"Come on, you think I'll believe that? You're just being polite. Empty words, that's all I ever get. And why did you follow me? I told you had training, and I told you to get lost." His words were short. Clipped and impatient. He wanted to get this over with. He didn't like the words that came out of his mouth, but he wasn't changing them now.

"Why didn't I leave you? Couldn't you figure that out on your own? I do care for you. Your a nice tom, you yourself need to realize that. Lilypaw kept pushing on, her eyes no longer filled with fear but with compasson and warmth. Her head, held up high.

"Why didn't I leave you? Couldn't you figure that out on your own?" Lilypaw asked. Frostpaw hissed in frustration and lashed his tail. All he wanted was for Lilypaw to give up and go hime. "I do care for you. Your a nice tom, you yourself need to realize that."
"I am not a nice tom!" Frostpaw yowled, turning on her. "You only think I am because I got mad at someone you were mad at. but in truth, I snap at everyone! I'm not friends with anyone, and no one's friends with me. Get it through your thick head."
He stopped, and shook his head, his voice lowered. "Look, I don't even want to talk about this. Get lost." he brushed past her, his pawsteps stiff.

Lilypaw growled, her eyes furious. "That is NOT the reason why Frostpaw!" She protested. She chased after him mewing, "Please don't leave! I want to talk to you." Her eyes filled with sadness and she mouthed the words 'Please don't go.'

Frostpaw continued to walk, his eyes staring coldly at the path ahead. He flattened his ears as Lilypaw spoke, and anger bubbled up inside of him. "Shut up!" he shouted, and turned abruptly to face her. "Shut up and leave me alone! I don't want to talk to you, and, and I don't want a friend, so just...just go away!"

I think we should end it here. I'm in a thread with Frostpaw and Rosekit, and he told her about the whole situation. She convinced him to ask Lilpaw to eat with him again. XD So, we can have a thread for him to come be all awkward and such.
