Okay, I know that this has been suggested many times before, but I thought I'd add my own little twist to it.
This does not go to all new members, but I know that some come in here and struggle to meet the word count, or struggle to make applications, etc. I know for a fact that my first application and some of my first posts were absolutely horrible. And I didn't even have to meet a word count when I first began roleplaying.
And honestly, I have had three accounts on here before, and on the first two I only stayed for about a month for each. It was hard to simply hop in and roleplay with all of the experienced roleplayers.
Eventually I made this account, and I have been on here for more than a year now. My writing skills have improved drastically, as well as my ability to create plots and creative characters.
However, for some members it is simply too much to take in at once. I know it was for me my first two accounts. I feel like these members that are intimidated by the site leave before they get a chance to begin writing development and character development skills.
My suggestion is to create a board for the new members and several sub-boards, including application help and roleplay help. Like I said before, some members don't need this. They can hop right in and begin roleplaying. However, I feel like this would be a very helpful addition. You could approve certain staff to help explain how to make a well-balanced character that has a creative personality and traits, and show them ways to meet the word count.
Like I said, I know this has been suggested before, but I really do think this would be a helpful addition to the site.
