August 2014 Gathering - Greenleaf

[Lightningtrail]

Goldenstar led StormClan into the pond of truce, looking around the meeting area. It seemed that she was the first to arrive. That was certainly a first for the golden she-cat, she had not been the first to arrive. but, in the end it never mattered much, as long as the other clans came eventually. She signaled to her clan to disperse with a flick of her tail, heading to the boulder in the center of the gathering place. The leap was not absurdly high, but Goldenstar was hardly a large cat. And she was beginning to feel a bit more tired than usual... A brief look of worry flashed across her face but she quickly forced the feelings deep inside of her belly, so no cat could see them. She leaped onto the rock, purring softly as she noticed that the stone still held some of the warmth from the sunshine earlier. She was glad that it was finally Greenleaf. And she also hoped that LeafClan would come tonight. She was eager to see if they had begun their recovery. She sat and waited for the other clans to arrive.

Russetfall of Stormclan

The small russet brown form of Russetfall can be found following behind Goldenstar. His emerald eyes are fixed ahead, though not focused on anything. Gatherings never excited the tom, he despised the other clans. The idea of Leafclan returning made him growl inside his head. Should if expected them to come crawling back tail between their legs. He thought as Goldenstar leads Stormclan into the clearing at the pond of truce. Shaking thought of Leafclan from his mind Russetfall looks around. His emerald eyes seek out his fellow clanmate, Graywing. She was the only cat he really got along with.

Fangstar had been doing everything he could to get ready for the gathering on time and in what seemed like forever he was finally ready. With a flick of his tail he led his clan mates away from the camp and towards the pond of truce. Soon enough his clan reached the pond of truce and he bounded towards the rock that the leaders sat on noticing Goldenstar on the rock. With a sigh he jumped up onto the rock and dipped his head in greeting the tip of his tail twitching as he peered down at the cats below.

Graywing had followed her clan mates to the gathering wondering if Leafclan would make an appearance at the gathering or stay home like they had at the last gathering. Even though Graywing had been born in Leafclan she had no loyalty towards the clan she had once called home. Maybe it was because her jerk of a father lived in Leafclan and she couldn't stand him. Looking around she spotted Russetfall and she headed towards him smiling.

Scorchfoot of Whisperclan

The deep orange and white tom cat pads along behind Fangstar. He was a social tom and as long as the gatherings didn't get too tense he enjoyed them. Padding into the clearing at the pond of truce he looks around. It seemed only Stormclan had arrived so far. Not knowing any cats from Stormclan he padded over to an empty spot and sat down. His lithe frame always looked poised for flight, even when he was comfortable. Wrapping his tail around his paws he looks up to Fangstar and Goldenstar a moment. Then at the star pelt, so far the sky was cloudless a good sign.

Russetfall of Stormclan

He grins at Graywing, remembering the day they had spent together. She had convinced him to jump out of a pine tree into the river. Truth be told he had been rather frightened at first but once he jumped it had been a blast. Now Russetfall considered the she-cat a friend, even if the part of him closest to his mother told him it was a bad idea. " Hey Graywing." He says emerald eyes gleaming, his russet pelt was particularly well groomed for the occasion. He might despise the other clans but he never gave up the chance to look good.

"Hey, Russetfall how you doing this fine night?" Graywing asked her friend giving him a kind smile she had told him her reasons for leaving Leafclan when they had first hung out. "Do you think Leafclan will come? They better not have any arrogance and think they are better then us," she meowed knowing how some of her former clan mates could be. She really hoped everything stayed calm and that Starclan didn't have to break up the gathering.

Smokeshade of StormClan

The gray tabby padded after his leader, sniffing at the air. Oh, I suppose we are first, he thought. Smokeshade padded over to a mildly grassy area, sitting down and glancing around. He glanced at Goldenstar up on the rock, then towards the moon glowing brightly. I wonder if LeafClan will show up tonight. This should make an interesting Gathering.

Cinderpaw of WhisperClan

The small gray apprentice followed close at the heels of her mentor. "Oh, Scorchfoot, this is so exciting!" she purred. It was her first Gathering, and she was very excited but also nervous. Her fluffy tail twitched, then she sat down next to Scorchfoot, following his gaze and looking up at the sky. Maybe I'll find other apprentices later or something, she thought, shuffling her paws. If only I wasn't so nervous!

Owlpaw followed Russetfall, her own golden eyes scanning the pond of truce in amazement. It was her first time at a gathering, and she was lucky to get to go with Russetfall this time. She padded after him, only for him to stop and look around for someone. WhisperClan entered around the same time, and Owlpaw felt a sickening pit in her stomach appear. He was not looking for a WhisperClan cat, was he? Relief flooded the black and white she-cat as she saw it was Greywing that he was searching for-a fellow StormClanner. She took a few steps towards Russetfall, feeling a strange sense of protection over her mentor. Greywing was that she-cat that ran away from LeafClan, right? Then she must just be disloyal. Then why was Russetfall so friendly with her?

Brightpaw of StormClan

Excited coursed through Brightpaw, she was at her first Gathering! Luckily, her excitement masked her fear. Maybe, if there were more apprentices, she would blend in better. Sudden fear surged over her. What if she still smelled like a kittypet? Brightpaw took in a deep breath, and forced herself to calm down. She peered over the large cats to see a young gray apprentice in WhisperClan? Slinking away from her own Clan, she decided to go meet her. "Hey! Um, I'm Brightpaw! Uh, what's your name?"

Russetfall of Stormclan

He flickers his tail tip as she speaks listening with a tilt of his skull. " Oh I'm good." He says at least he was for now. When more clans arrived his mood wouldn't be quite so great. " How about you?" He asks wondering if she still was swamped with thoughts about her dead beat father. At her statement he snorts, his emerald eyes narrowing. " Yeah they better not! Or we'll send their sorry behinds right back home!" He growls his despise for Leafclan obvious. The only other clan he hated more was Talonclan. The small muscular tom doesn't bother to keep his voice down as he continues. " I wouldn't be surprised if starclan put clouds across the moon when they come!"


Scorchfoot of Whisperclan

Scorchfoot looks around at his apprentice and smiles some. He could remember how excited he had been at his first gathering. " Oh it gets better." He comments thinking of the clans still left to arrive and how they all intermingled for a brief while. He really enjoyed the time. Though the return of Leafclan was making him slightly nervous. Would they cause trouble amongst the other clans? Blinking away the bad thoughts, the deep orange and white tom's soulful eyes land on his apprentice. Cinderpaw seemed nervous. He gently touches her shoulder with the tip of his tail. " Don't be nervous." He says in a kind tone. 

[Sand]

"That's good, I'm good as well," Graywing meowed with a smile and noticed how his apprentice looked at at her and figured she would have to convince Owlpaw that she was loyal to Stormclan. She turned when her friend spoke again and nodded her eyes darkening at the thought of Leafclan. "Yeah, we'll teach them that arrogance is one way to get them sent home. I've never been to big of a fan of arrogance I mean what it the point of strutting around and acting like your better then everyone?" she asked him with a shake of her head. "Yeah me too, I mean I feel like some of those cats in Leafclan may be still blood thirsty little foxhearts," she meowed with a swish of her tail.

{Hope is the thing with feathers}

With SunsetClan following dutifully behind her, Ratstar wove her way toward the Pond of Truce with confident steps. Her sharp eyes were alert in the darkness, her head kept low but her ears and tail were at attention. Her dappled figure moved fluidly across the terrain--she was eager to arrive at this Gathering. Though she hid it well, Ratstar was anxious to see if LeafClan would arrive. This was the second Gathering since Silverstar's end, and Ratstar knew she wasn't the only one who wanted to see how they were fairing.

And who had stepped in to lead them.

Arriving at the clearing, seeing she was not the first, Ratstar swept her tail in dismissal of her Clan before making her way to the small Pond and leaping easily up onto the stone in its center. She dipped her head courteously to the other two leaders she greeted there. "Goldenstar, Fangstar," she acknowledged before taking a seat beside the former. "I hope all has been well for you and yours this Green Leaf." A question disguised as a statement. Ratstar wasn't really one for smalltalk, but the others were free to reply with as much information as they saw appropriate; Ratstar wasn't going to pry.

{That perches in the soul}

From SunsetClan, the lean-bodied, chocolate-coated Otterfrost followed loyally behind Ratstar as they made their way to the Gathering. Her soft yellow eyes were wide and bright with excited energy (as they always were when she had to immerse herself in a crowd...), and her pelt was sleek against her. With the clear night sky above, full to the brim, it seemed, with stars, Otterfrost, for once in her life, was feeling hopeful to see LeafClan at this Gathering. If, for no other reason, than to just make sure they were okay. Her gaze swept across the growing crowd before she took her usual place near the Pond--far enough away to not be bothered by the water, but close enough to be separated from the bulk of the gathered cats, where maybe no stranger would try and talk to her.

As always, Sandstrike was on Ratstar's tail the entire way, his long legs carrying him with his usual, easy gait as they made their way to the Pond. When SunsetClan dispersed, Sandstrike continued to follow his leader to the water's edge, stopping only when she made the leap he was not permitted to make, and then taking a seat on that small shore.


From StormClan, Cedarwind strode into the clearing with the others. His normally charming smile was dulled, and his usually appreciative golden eyes were distant. Would she be there? After so many moons without a glimpse of that star-littered pelt... the tom was beginning to lose himself in the hope he was losing. He had always been known as a social cat, striking up conversations, befriending strangers... but tonight he sat near the back of the crowd, hiding away in the shadows created by the overhang of the surrounding forest.

Hailpaw practically bounded into the clearing, her blue eyes bright as they fluttered from one cat to another. Eventually, they landed on another young she-cat sitting by a warrior she did not recognize (Cinderpaw with Scorchfoot) and she frolicked over to the pair. It wasn't until she had arrived that she noticed Brightpaw, from her own Clan, also saying hello. "Hi!" she exclaimed excitedly, her fluffy white pelt with seal points bristling with her energy. "I'm Hailpaw! I'm from StormClan, but you're not from StormClan, right? If you are, then I'm about to feel very silly."

Molepaw, the soft-bodied Medicine Cat apprentice of StormClan, padded into the Gathering and sat where the other Medicine Cats usually congregated. He sat quietly and kept his ear down, just wanting to get through this night and get back to the comfort of his own Clan.


From WhisperClan, a spidery, black figure strode in with the crowd, his fair eyes narrowed and expression set with disinterest. Copperbreeze chose a spot in the grass near some StormClan warrior (Smokeshade) and let his gaze wander. He had no interest in socializing, and hoped this other cat felt the same.


From the shadows, on opposite sides of the clearing an unaware of each other, two pairs of eyes looked into the Gathering from the cover of the trees. One pair, two blinks of washed-out olive, were friendly as they watched cats gather. He was searching for some cats...

He needed to say goodbye.

The other pair of eyes seemed to hover in the darkness, their bright golden hues shining as they danced mischievously across the crowd. These nights were always... entertaining, if not interesting. And, if it got boring, she could always... stir things up to suit her fancy. Whatever that happened to be.

Spiderstep despised the fact he had been elected to attend the Gathering, but he had made no protest at his leader's choices. As he sauntered in, his arachnid-like limbs lurched beneath his smooth pelt. In truth, he was an insect, lumbering through the shadows, blissfully ignoring the others that thronged around him.

The sky was ink-black, speckled with shiny celestial lights. (Heavenly.) thought Spiderstep as he seated himself on the grass, although his gaze was locked skyward. The moon was cradled in a stratus cloud, and for a moment, Spiderstep envied that the moon had someone to touch.

He glanced around as the other Clans entered the Pond of Truce, and Spiderstep scowled at the sight of the mangy felines. His lip curled back in disgust. (How I hate being here. I refuse to interact!) He snobbishly raised his head, a superior veil over his golden eyes.

Scorchfoot of Whisperclan

The calm tom cat glances up from his apprentice to look at Hailpaw. He smiles warmly and chuckles. " Nope not Stormclan, were Whisperclanners, right Cinderpaw?" He says flickering his apprentices shoulder with his tail tip. Hoping she would overcome her nerves and perhaps chat with this lively She-cat. His soulful hazel eyes rest upon the young cat, then flicker to Brightpaw. He hadn't noticed her approach he smiles at her as well. " Hi there.' he says with a wave of his long tail.

Russetfall of Stormclan

His emerald eyes momentary land on Owlpaw. He noticed she was staying nearby him and Graywing. Good, he thought she wasn't mingling with these other clans. He gives an approving nod to her before returning his attention to Graywing. He nods his head slowly at her words. " Yeah don't turn your back on them, Owlpaw. " he says to his apprentice. " They have no honor." he flickers his tail in increasing irritation as Sunsetclan enters the cue. " Oh look who decided to show up." He says flickering his tail towards the newest arrivals, eyes narrowed in dislike.

Daisypaw of Sunsetclan

The young and extremely energetic apprentice comes bouncing into the gathering clearing. Her calico fur is puffed with excitement her round eyes wide and full of awe, as she follows after her mentor Morningdew. This was so exciting! Maybe she would meet some other apprentices from different clans!? Would they smell funny?
Her question was answered as she sniffs the air, it was mixed with odd smells that made her nose wrinkle. Yuck! She thought as she padded further into the clearing looking for cats to chat with.

Brightpaw of Stormclan

"Oh hey, Hailpaw!" She greeted him as he came over. She leaned over to him and whispered into his ear. "I have no idea what I'm doing. Do you? What do they do at Gatherings?" She felt her ears burn at the question. What was she supposed to do? What if it was against the code to mingle with them! She quickly glanced around to see if see was doing the right thing.

Snowpaw of Stormclan

Snowpaw made her way carefully towards some of the other cats, trying her hardest not to trip on a stray pebble. She stretched up, trying to see over the other cats' heads. She couldn't see anyone she knew at the moment, and she worried that this would be a lonely gathering for her. She couldn't see any TalonClan, MidnightClan, or LeafClan cats, and she wondered if any of them would be showing up.
