The silver she-cat looked out to the entrance of the nursery smiling at the warm sun of green-leaf. The warm air filled the nersury, almost making it seem stuffy but not quit. To her it seemed comfortable and relaxing. She had never been so happy before recently. Her mind moved to her loving mate, Loudheart, then to their two sons, Bramblekit and Rainkit. Her family. She finally felt useful to the clan.
The queen looked to her two kits and smiled. They were their father's spitting image. And hopefully they were strong like him too. 

She stretched herself out in her soft nest lost in her bliss. A sharp pain rippled through her stomach, she closed her eyes tight and held back a hiss of pain. Ever since kitting, she had felt the pains in her stomach. It wasn't unbearable, but it was very uncomfortable for her. She had thought they were normal pains at first, but no one else seemed to have them. Compared to the other queens she felt weak, some how she had messed up her kitting. She wondered if it was Starclan punishing her for something. Her thoughts distracted by the pain that still echoed in her stomach. She was slowly getting better at hiding the pain, so she thought. She didn't the others to notice and worry, or worse be seen as weak. She would be strong for the herself, for her clan, for her mate, for her kits. She had to be.

Icestorm sat up in her nest hoping the change in position would help the pain fade. Luckily for her, it seemed to have worked. For now.

[Frost]

A large ball of fluffy dark brown tabby fur rolled over onto it's back. Yawning softly, Bramplekit got to his paws. "Hi mommy. Can I ask you a question? Wait, I just did....Well how come daddy doesn't sleep here? And what's a fox? Mintpaw told me if I don't do what she tells me a fox will eat me." The large kitten meowed, yawning. The tom slowly stretched before jumping up on his mother and curling up against her flank. Bramplekit stayed quiet for a long moment before rolling off the slivef queen and next to Rainkit. Getting back to his paws, Bramplekit poked his dark tabby brother with a single lilac paw. Waiting for Rainkit to wake up he sat down and said, "wake up! Wake up! Time to get up! Come play with me, so I don't jump on you!" In a sing song voice.

Loudheart padding back into camp, a small sparrow in his jaws. Today's hunting hadn't been too sucessful, and he wondered if that meant leaf fall would be on it's way. He looked over to the nursery, where his lovely family would be resting in the shade, hidden away from the sun's beating heat. He thought about setting his catch down in the fresh kill pile and picking a plumper peice of prey for his mate, but decided he would rather give her something he caught himself. And this garenteed that it would be extra fresh for his love.

Padding over to the nursery, the large tom poked his head into the den. He forced the first half of his body through the small entrance, but didn't want to risk filling up all of the space in the nursery or getting himself jammed in the entrance, so didn't push himself through any further. Gentley setting the prey down for Icestorm, the tom twitched his long whiskers at all of Bramblekit's questions.

Rainkit grunted and whipped his paws out in front of him in an attempt to knock his brother over. He had been pretending to sleep while everyone woke up around him. Now he was ready to play. "Not if I jump on you first!" He declared.

The silver she-cat smiled brightly as her mate brought her some prey. She nodded to him before Bramblekit demanded attention with his questions. "Loudheart is warrior, so he sleeps in the warrior den," she smiled sweetly to him before shocked amusement crossed her face, "A fox? A fox is.. A fox hmm," she looked to Loudheart to help. She honestly had no idea how to decribe a fox without making it sound scary. Her gaze stayed  on Loudheart with a kind smile. Unitl she felt a sharp pain radiate through her body as Bramblekit pounced on her. She tried to continue smiling at her family, but it was hard. Something was wrong.

After a moment the pain subsided though. Her caring eyes watched her two sons together. She couldn't help but think of the brother they would never know. No, she had to focus on these two. Bramblekit and Rainkit - her kin, her kits.
