I think it could be useful to to use (in addition, or convert) the "Greetings" box on the top left as a quick information guide.
I'm pretty forgetful so sometimes I forget the names of leaders, medicine cats, and their apprentices... and also the season.
I saw it was suggested already that the season be put somewhere on the front page, and although its good to have it announced in the news and the gatherings, both take a little bit of digging and aren't immediately accessible for the memory impaired.
At least having the names of the leaders in the Greetings box would be very helpful so I don't have to go digging for the "current high positions" thread in another tab every time I post. ^^

Currently I think that the current greetings box text is lovely and very inviting, but doesn't really add much to the site's content.
And while knowing the names of the staff is very important, staff can be recognized by both name color and by title whenever they're seen in the forums, so this information is more readily accessible than leader names.
I just think for the sake of conciseness, it makes a lot of sense to have clan information and/or an important direct link to clan cat lists readily available mid-post.
