Ceremonies from a Moth (Midnightclan ceremonies! 10/1 )

OOC: Legit has been way cray busy with schoolwork, so she told me to do the ceremonies. That being said, since I haven't been the one keeping track of the people requesting, let me know if I made any mistakes, forgot anyone, or if your cat for some reason already had a ceremony. :3 I'm trying my best here!

The dark tortoiseshell stood at the edge of the clearing, her pair of orange-amber eyes shifting quickly from one side to the other with slight franticness as she silently became wrapped up in her inward thoughts, the frenzy of names running in lists through her head. Mothcloud had been told by Bramblestar to give out the ceremonies this time, for reasons unknown to her, and not only was this her first one, but apparently due to their delay in organizing these ceremonies there were now many, many cats to be named off at once! Her tail stiffened at the thought, all caused from her own disorganization. Wasn't she supposed to be the one helping with organizing things around the camp? She probably could have told Bramblestar sooner, if she had only thought of it herself then! but no, she had been too busy, and so now they were so far behind. Not on schedule, oh curse her distracted mind!

She straightened up and made her way to the center of the clearing, taking a deep breath in preparation for the address she was about to give. None the matter, they would get this all sorted out now, wouldn't they? She had just spent most of the past two sun-highs trying to untangle this mess of matching mentors to apprentices and all the while considering their strengths and recalling every cat who needed to be named. She also felt this position to be very unfamiliar to her. Mothcloud had addressed the clan before, but never like this. It was Bramblestar who gave the ceremonies. Could she remember the correct procedure? Everything had to run smoothly, after all. Oh, she hoped she would remember the names. Her eyes narrowed as she ran through the lengthy list one more time in her head, fiercely trying to pin them all to her memory. She would never forgive herself if she forgot a cat's name on her first ceremony, or somehow made a mistake!

"Midnightclan, Midnightclan! Will all cats please gather for a new ceremony," Mothcloud began with an impatient twitch of her tail and urging in her paws to get this ceremony announced as soon as possible. "We have a great many cats who need to be noticed today!" Noticed? Was that the right word for that? She could feel the unfamiliarity with her position interfering with her thoughts. "Er- anyway, let's get started! When I call your name, please stand forward to be recognized by your clanmates;"

"Eaglekit! (CaℳI) You have reached six moons as a kit and are now ready to become an apprentice of Midnightclan. Your name is now Eaglepaw and your mentor will be Greywhisker (Clemintine). Train hard to learn the skills you need to serve your clan.

Hazelkit! (CaℳI) You have also reached your six moons as a kit, and are now ready to become an apprentice of Midnightclan. Your name is now Hazelpaw and your mentor will therefore be Boulderstrike ([Acro.]). Train hard to learn the skills you will need to serve your clan.

Sparrowkit! (Echo) You are now six moons old and ready to take on a mentor. Your name is now Sparrowpaw and your mentor will be Ravenwing (Sand). Train hard to learn the skills you will need to serve your clan!

Stonekit! (@dawnfire) You are now six moons old and are ready to begin your apprentice hood. Your name is now Stonepaw and your mentor is Flintshade (@marbles). Train hard to learn the skills that you will need to serve your clan.

Kestrelkit! (Ambrose) You have reached six moons as a kit and are now ready to become an apprentice of Midnightclan. Your name is now Kestrelpaw and your mentor will be Owlgaze (Clemintine). Train hard to learn the skills that you will to best serve your clan.

Fallowkit! (Lightningtrail) You have reached the age of six moons. Your new name is Fallowpaw and your mentor will be Sorrelwhisker (Deku). Train hard to learn the skills that you will need to serve the clan.

Mothcloud paused after the list was rattled off and took a few breaths. She didn't think they had ever had this many kits be made apprentices at one time before.

"And now, for the warriors ceremonies. Please come forward when I call your name"

"Fernpaw (Ambrose). You have trained hard to serve your clan and it is time for you to be renamed. You will now be known as Fernspring, full warrior of Midnightclan. Remember to continue to serve your clan above everything else and remember what your mentor has taught you.

Silverpaw (Lightningtrail). You have trained hard to serve your clan and it is time for you to be renamed. You will now be known as Silverhail, full warrior of Midnightclan. Remember to continue to serve your clan above everything else and remember what your mentor has taught you.

Barkpaw (Silvergrass). You have trained hard to serve your clan and it is time for you to be renamed. You will now be known as Barkdust, full warrior of Midnightclan. Remember to continue to serve your clan above everything else and remember what your mentor has taught you.

Birchpaw (@tink). You have trained hard to serve your clan and it is time for you to be renamed. You will now be known as Birchleaf, full warrior of Midnightclan. Remember to continue to serve your clan above everything else and remember what your mentor has taught you.

And finally, Shimmerpaw (☼Шїℓℓ◎ω). You have trained hard to serve your clan and it is time for you to be renamed. You will now be known as Shimmerpool, full warrior of Midnightclan. Remember to continue to serve your clan above everything else and remember what your mentor has taught you."

Mothcloud dipped her head after going through the last ceremony. "Congratulations; Eaglepaw, Hazelpaw, Sparrowpaw, Stonepaw, Kestrelpaw, Timberpaw, Nightpaw, Whitepaw, Fallowpaw, Flamepaw, Hawkpaw, Tallpaw, Maplepaw, Hazelpaw, Mudpaw, Fernspring, Silverhail, Barkdust, Birchleaf and Shimmerpool! Your clan watches you take your steps into their ranks!" She announced, signaling for the rest to cheer or congratulate them. With a sigh, she then stepped aside to give the many cats room. Starclan, was that a difficult task to have started with!

Hawkkit bounced excitedly as Mothcloud called all the cats to the clearing. This was the day he and Maplekit were going to be apprenticed! As Mothcloud called up each kit Hawkkit tried his hardest to be still, but as soon as Mothcloud called his name he practically ran up to touch noses with his new mentor. He watched excitedly as his sister was called up as well. He made a mental note to find her and his new mentor right after the ceremony.

Paprika looked over to the Deputy of midnightclan. Her ginger face ruffled, she quickly smoothed out her long fur and walked over. She knew it was time for her to become an apprentice of this clan. As the ceremonies went through she listened for her name. At last it came and she perked her ears. Redpaw! Her name was Redpaw! Pap- no no Redpaw smiled and got up as soon as she thought it was a prop to ate and went searching for her mentor.

Redfire nearly bounced around and found it hard to contain herself. Blinking slowly she gulped in and took the words in, '..your mentor will be Redfire..' She let put a deep breath and her eyes shimmered. Her mouth was clamped shutshe couldn't sqeal, not once. She felt everything change as she looked for her new apprentice, Maplepaw. "Maplepaw?" The name had a nice twist to it. She let the words slap on her tounge as she turned delighted to see other excited apprentice, new warrior, and mentors. Sighing she glanced around one more time, how to spot a small cat in such a mass crowd.

[Eveningbreeze]

Flamekit walked towards where the deputy had called. The large ginger and white kit stood there, his dark brown eyes looking with envy as the other kits were apprenticed, his emotions barely hidden under his innocent-looking smile. Was it possible that he had been forgotten again?

Then, at that moment...

"Flamekit!"

The young tom's eyes widened. He looked up, fearing that he had heard it wrong. When he saw that Mothcloud really was talking to him, he smiled. This time, for real.

He walked, searching for his mentor. He just turned to see when he saw that a kittypet she-cat was getting apprenticed, but he tried not to think about it. He hated kittypets with all his heart, but maybe this one could be useful to the clan. Besides, he had another things to think about right now.

Flamepaw- He thought, enjoying the moment, his dark eyes shining- I'm Flamepaw now...

Larksong was resting her eyes in the warriors den, almost asleep. She heard the leade- no, deputy call and she opened her eyes. For a moment, she thought about not getting up, but she finally decided she would, just in case. Without another thought, she got up, stretched, and walked out of the warrior den slowly. She chose a spot that wasn't that close to where any of the other cats were sitting, she didn't feel like talking to anyone right now. 

She listened to the deputy, patiently, not expecting to receive an apprentice. She called out all the new names of the apprentices. When the kit, Hazelkit, was called and her name soon followed, she looked around wildly, confused. "What, me?" she whispered under her breath. 

When the long ceremony ended, she got up quickly, looking for her new apprentice. She bounded over to her new apprentice quickly.

Squirrelfire sat, fighting to remain calm and not bouncing around throughout the ceremony. The long-furred she-cat had made sure to give her kits a thorough wash before the ceremony began, because they were among the many getting named today. Pride glittered in her eyes as she watched Hawkkit and Maplekit sitting near the front. She had been told that she was getting her own apprentice too, and the excitement flowed over her in a fresh wave every time she remembered it. She was assigned to Whitepaw towards the beginning of the ceremony, and because of that she could barely sit still. As soon as MidnightClan's deputy called the meeting to an end, she shot up, deciding to look for her kits first. She walked up to the two of them, meowing, "Congratulations! I'm so proud of you both -- I would love to stay longer, but I have to find my new apprentice -- be sure to find me later today, all right?"

Next, the ginger she-cat padded up to the apprentice she was sure was her own and smiled, bending down to touch noses. "Hello, Whitepaw!" she purred, tail waving. "I'm Squirrelfire!"

Badgerpelt was basically the exact opposite of Squirrelfire -- he had no issue with sitting still and calmly watching throughout the ceremony. The black and white tom blinked in confusion as their deputy stood for the ceremony, but he just figured Bramblestar was busy. He had no clue he was about to be a mentor, however, but still had a spark of hope. One apprentice, named towards the end of the apprentice portion, by the name of Tallpaw, was assigned to be his apprentice. Badgerpelt was, of course, surprised, but he shook his head slightly and smiled, standing up at the end of the recognition of the cats and scanning the mass of cats for his new apprentice.

Maplekit was basically shaking in her pelt. After being roughly washed by her mother, she found a spot towards the front near her brother, Hawkkit. The first name she truly recognized was her mother, Squirrelfire, being given an apprentice. The small ginger cat looked back at her mother with a small smile. She let out a mew of excitement as her brother was called to be apprenticed right before her, and she glanced at him with pride. Only an apprentice later, she was given her own name -- Maplepaw! That's me! I'm an apprentice now! she thought, happiness flowing over her. She made note of her mentor, spotting her scanning the crowd as her name was called.

Maplekit -- no, Maplepaw -- turned right to her brother once the ceremony finished. Their mother came up to them, congratulating them, and Maplepaw promised to find her once the ceremony was over as she left. "Hawkpaw, we are apprentices now!" she squeaked, then spotted Redfire, her mentor, looking for her. "Come find me once you meet your mentor, maybe we can train together!" she added, then quickly ran away to Redfire. "Hi! You're Redfire, my mentor, right? I'm Maplepaw!" she mewed, quivering with excitement and nervousness from meeting the she-cat for the first time.

Hearing the call from the apprentice den Birchpaw raced out of the den. Seeing their deputy, Mothcloud, up calling the clan to a meeting was slightly odd. Where was Bramblestar? Was he sick? Birchpaw quickly brushed off the thoughts quickly as she began to speak. Excitement rolled threw her as she realized that she was giving apprentice names. Maybe today she would finally become a warrior! Birchpaw quickly started to groom her wild black and white pelt in anticipation. It took a while but she finally got to the apprentices to name them.

Birchpaw squirmed the whole way threw until finally she heard her name! Birchpaw-no not Birchpaw anymore Birchleaf! She was Birchleaf now! She stepped forward to receive her name. She couldn't believe she was finally a warrior. It was very noticeable that there was a bounce in her step. Stop, stop that you aren't a kit anymore your a warrior! It took everything in her power to contain her excitement.

(Lightningtrail I didn't realize earlier that Sorrelwhisker was mentoring Fallowpaw. I'll bring him in now I guess.)

Sorrelwhisker listened quietly to the ceremonies being given. He called out all the names loudly, but he was silently more excited about his own kits being apprenticed then anything else. At least, until he was given his own apprentice. He looked up in surprise for the cat that he would train to become a MidnightClan warrior.

Hawkpaw smiled widely at his sister's enthusiasm and nodded. "Of course Maplepaw. That would be awesome!" He emphasized her new name excitedly.

OOC: Mothcloud will be training Mudkit, if I am correct? Either you or I can start the thread. Whichever way works for me.

Mudpaw sheepishly crept towards the high rock and touched noses with Mothcloud. He ran back to his parents and scuttled in the middle of them. "The deputy! As my mentor! This is crazy! Why did she have to choose me...", Mudpaw thought to himself. "I wonder how this will turn out..."

Whitekit watched as she was named a apprentice, boredom danceing though her blue eyes. The young kit just didn't really care any more. Really the only thing that changed was her dumb name. Whitepaw. So scary! The she-cat rolled her eyes, reaching up to touch noses with the annoying she cat named Squirrelfire. Giving a slight nodded to the warrior, Whitepaw held the same look on her face. Her mouth was a straight line and her eyes where slightly narrowed, showing tremendous amounts of boredom and annoyance. 'Why her? Dumb she-cat could hardly keep herself still.' The white and grey kit thought, standing and padding out of camp. Whitepaw wanted to leave just for a little to get moss, but a certain part of her really wanted to ditch the clan and go somewhere else. With out a single word, Whitepaw ducked though the brample tunnel to the outside of camp.

[Puddlesdog]

Redfire looked at her apprentice eagerly. "Why hello Maplepaw, glad to encounter you!" Her warm smile extended to the sibling. The other apprentices caught her eyes but she stared at her own interested. "We can go on a patrol right now.. " she stopped to take a small glance at her apprentices sibling. "You and your mentor can come, if you would like." She flicked her tail turning back to face her apprentice hoping that they would both enjoy themselves as well as her.

[Stormsy]

Squirrelfire let out an angry huff as her apprentice left. Great StarClan, if she's like that all the time, I don't know if I'll be able to handle training her every day! she thought bitterly, her eyes narrowing as she watched the young cat strut off.

Maplepaw bounced up and down, clearly showing the spirit of her mother. "Yeah, that would be great!" she purred.

Fallowkit's eyes widened with excitement. She was finally an apprentice! She could hardly contain her excitement as she plunged into the crowd. but her steps slowed as doubts began to eat at her. What if Sorrelwhisker did not like her? but before she could think negatively anymore, she stumbled upon her new mentor. "Um...Hi, Sorrelwhisker," She mewed, quietly but not unafraid. [/b]"I am excited to train with you,[/b]" She reached her head to touch noses with the cat.

Silvershine stood shocked as her name was called to mentor an apprentice. She was hardly a warrior herself! but either way, she would do her best to be the best mentor she could to Brindlepaw. She stood and began to search the crowd for the new apprentice.
