I'll Show You The World (Open&Patrol)

Honeyrain had veered from the patrol - just a little bit. There was an old badger scent and she wanted to make sure it was old. Keeping her paws light and jaws parted she felt a pit in her stomach. The creature could still be there - wandering the territory and waiting to cause havoc. Climbing on some rocks to get a better view and follow the trail, she sighed with relief when it remained stale. "So far so good!" The honey colored she-cat called out to the rest of patrol - the fading sun hitting her pelt and highlighting the red in her fur. TalonClan, it made her feel on top of the world. The rocky terrain allowed her to see the Moore Fields and just the start of Skyfield. It really was breathtaking as the setting sun kissed the territory in a golden wash.

"Well thats good" Morningsky meowed softly getting up with Honeyrain, the view was really breath taking."I hope we don't get in any trouble." The insecure white she cat whispered to herself and got down to keep going. "We could hunt a little if we have the chance, it's never too much in leafbare" she meowed aloud this time looking af the others for aproval.

Sensing Honeyrain veer away from the rest of them, Ashnight hung back even further from the group than he usually did and followed her, remaining at a protective watchful distance. He growled low in his throat at the scent of badger and only realised he's been holding his breath when he detected the scent as stale seconds after she did. When he saw she was ok with his own eyes, he stayed hidden partially in his environment and rubbed a paw over his head, a look that made him look strangely vulnerable for the warrior he was.

Honeyrain was unaware of Ashnight watching her until she cleared that the badger was, in fact, not around at the moment. She was stealthy, but not on his level. Her awareness didn't fall short either, it's why she excelled in hunting. Moving over a pawstep so Morningsky had room on the rock next to her she flicked her tail to her clanmate's shoulder in reassurance. "If anything comes our way, the three of us have got each other's backs." Eyes soft Honeyrain nodded in agreement to Morningsky's suggestion at hunting. Looking back to Ashnight she felt her muzzle split into a smile. It was rare to see her friend show some sort of vulnerability and she savored those moments when others had profound emotion. Whether that be sadness, joy, anger or even vulnerability. "What do you think, Ashnight? Up for some hunting? I bet we could get some mice or rabbits in the Moore Fields."

The thing about Ashnight was that even when he appeared to be otherwise occupied he was watching, and for this reason he caught Honeyrain's smile. Narrowing his eyes at her, silently telling her not to mention it to anyone, he dropped his paw and went back to the serious warrior he was. He was only cute when nobody was looking. At the mention of hunting, the large tom actually exited his beloved shadows and stalked up to the two Talonclan she-cats, not getting too close for physical contact but close for him. He was so silent, no one would have been him move if they hadn't been paying attention.

"You alright Ashnight?" Morningsky asked shyly. "We... We should keep going" the she cat started to walk a little ahead leading, or trying to since she was very insecure, to the hunting place so they could find some preys to take back to the clan.

Honeyrain jumped down after Morningsky, keeping slightly behind her to let her lead. Just from witnessing her around camp she felt as if the she-cat could use an ego boost. "I think he's fine, however, maybe he'll grace us with that voice of his and he can tell you himself." Waving her ringed tail at him, the tabby cat trotted with her jaws parted and ears pricked. Hopefully they could bring something back home. They had so many mouths to feed and Leafbare was going to get harder. There were so many kits and, from what she knew, not many were surviving. Their mothers would need enough milk to feed those still alive. A new determination set in Honeyrain's chest and a different air moved about her. Some of her energetic, carefree vibes dulled as she realized how dire it was to bring food back.

Morningsky noticed when Honeyrain spirits drooped a little, the older she cat slowed her pace to be side by side with the other cat. "Leafbare is hard on everyone." She whispered softly. "Hunting, even if only one prey, we are already helping our clan to keep going." Her blue eyes focused on the she cat. "You don't need to worry so much about this."

Just to prove a point, Ashnight kept his mouth shut and didn't answer on purpose. Plus talking mean't he was less aware of his surroundings and no one was going to get hurt on his watch. Grunting in answer instead, it wasn't in a grumpy tone, more... otherwise occupied. Following in silent feet, he stopped every now and then to take in the scents around them, eyes wary and seeing everything. Once or twice he dissapeared from the group, fading into the shadows, but sooner or later he was back with the group, holding the rear.

Morningsky stopped, her ears high while her tail waved around. "I heard something." She opened her mouth so she could smell better. "I think it's a rabbit." The white she cat meowed and looked at her companions for aproval.

Giving Morningsky a smile in appreciation Honeyrain knew she wouldn't let it go, not really. Mewling, hungry kits broke her heart. Hearing Ashnight grumble her tinkling laugh responded then she fell quiet. Nodding to the other she-cat, Honeyrain slipped into some tall grass of the Moore Fields. Making her paws softer and slowing her breathing she moved in the direction that Morningsky had scented the rabbit. It was a fresh trail, now she just needed to see the creature. If she could spook it into the direction of her clanmates they would have a kill! 

Taking the smallest of steps Honeyrain felt something prick the back of her neck. Shooting up in the grass to full height her sudden movements made the rabbit bolt. The she-cat just didn't care nor did she really notice it take off. Turning around to face the direction they had come from her amber eyes transfixed into the darkening surroundings. The sun was falling far too quickly now. Sending out a hiss to warn the other two, Honeyrain knew something was wrong.

A blundering creature moved through the field, angered that something had crossed too close to its den. Letting out a large snort the black and white animal moved toward the three cats, snarling and swiping at the tall grass. It was time to rid the area of the pesky cats.

The grey tom stiffened as he smelt a hostile scent. Only one thing smelt that foul... Badger, he cursed inwardly just as he heard Honeyrain's warning his. Quick on his feet, Ashnight kept a distance from the badger while closing the distance between himself and the two she cats. He kept the badger in sight. It was rummaging around not far from them. The darkening sky was good for his stealth but provided less visuals for the cats to communicate. Cursing under his breath, Ashnight was finally standing beside Honeyrain, his golden eyes dark with concern. "We need to go now,!" he hissed. They should attempt to out manouvre it first as jumping into a fight with a badger was not something that should be done unless it was a last option. A crash sounded from behind him and the tom new that it was on the move towards them, and it was coming at a fast pace. A low growl sounded in Ashnights throat as he urged them all away. He'd stay and fight if it came to that but he would do it to provide time for the others, he worked better solo anyway. He'd dissapear and could lead the badger on a wild goose chase if need be.

Morningsky quickly lowered her body to the ground so she would not be so easy to spot, seeing that Ashnight had the full attention of the badger she sneaked behind the animal it had stopped when saw the large tom so Morningsky had all the distraction she needed to jump at the animal´s back and drive it away from the younger cats. She would not let them get hurt because of her idea of hunting. "Go now!" she meowed to them while keeping the badger engaged.

I'm late! I'm late! I'm late for a very important date!

Scrambling through the territory of Talonclan the marbled she-cat ran as fast as she her long legs could take her. The wind blurred around her and she had to narrow her eyes against the cold icy air. How was she going to explain this to the patrol? How was she going to explain to another set of warrior's that she was late.... like always. It wasn't that she planned to be late, it just always seemed to happen. Whether she was hunting or patrolling or even for ceremonies, she was always late. Her chest felt like it was about to burst as she leaped over the last set of boulders in her way. Landing lightly she looked around, wondering where everyone went. This was where they were supposed to meet. Chest heaving she scented the air and quickly found the scents of Morningsky, Ashnight and Honeyrain; all warriors that she didn't really know. To be honest the young feline was a little bit worried about joining this patrol.. They all seemed so clicky with no another, and now that she was super late, they might make her excluded for being late. Growling in irritation at herself she trotted towards the scents. As she drew closer a new smell assaulted her nose.

Badger.

Fear gripped her heart as she thought about the mutilated bodies of her Clanmates, and how it could've been prevented if she had been on time. Moving into a run again she rounded the corner and saw the backsides of the three warriors. The tom, Ashnight, was bristling, eyes wide with determination. Morningsky was huddled on the ground and Honeyrain stood beside them in the middle. Directly across from them was the badger, a great black and white beast with beedy black eyes. Stifling her worry Raindapple cantered forward until she was beside the other three on the narrow path. Her hackles were raised, and her muscles were coiled under her brown and white marbled coat.

Honeyrain's eyes went wide as Morningsky sprung onto the beast. Letting out a screeching yowl, the tabby cat lunged for the badger sinking her teeth into it's hind leg. There was no way she was going to leave Morningsky, or any cat for that matter, to battle this thing alone. Releasing the animal as it swung to hit her, Honeyrain hoped the other she-cat would manage to stay on the badger's back. Getting too close to it's snapping jaws wasn't smart for anyone. 

Seeing another body race up to them Honeyrain was almost relieved to see Raindapple. Only reason she wouldn't be was due to another cat having the potential of being hurt. Suddenly the badger made a quick motion toward Honeyrain, throwing its long claws in her direction. Jumping backward she wasn't all that quick and felt her shoulder get nicked. The momentum behind her jumping and the badger striking sent the TalonClan warrior to the side, rolling in the dirt. Getting to her paws she hissed at the black and white monstrosity as blood welled up to the wound. "Foxdung!" Snarling at the foe, Honeyrain lunged again this time getting a good swipe at the beast's face before retreating.
