This Should Be...Interesting(Cami)

((OOC: CaℳI so this will be the first training thread between Russetpaw and Tigerfang. I decided why not start it :3))

Russetpaw groggily awoke from his warm dream, his ginger fur brushing his sister, Goldenpaw's. The golden glow of his gaze seemed to brighten as the soft morning light flitted into the apprentice den, reflecting across the many small cats. Pushing himself up lazily, his tail twitching, he angrily glared at his messy fur as his stomach growled hungrily, a little monster clawing from inside his stomach from the hunger. I'll get to you later, you stupid fur, he thought as he glared at his ruffled fur, right before he padded softly ot of the apprentice den towards the fresh-kill pile.

Plucking up a plump starling, he dug his sharp teeth into the juicy food, blood seeping into his already bright red fur, darkening the fur on and around his muzzle. Reaching down once more, he glanced around the still-sleepy camp, the morning light just flowing into the cave. With a quick scan around, he wondered when his new mentor would wake up, and when their first training session would be. He had waited excitedly for becoming an apprentice, and he just couldn't wait till his first training session.

Tigerfang yawned as he woke up. He hated getting up. It always irritated him after a long night. The night before he had spent with Ivyheart, Pebblestar, and Mudpaw. It didn't go the way they had planned. Mudpaw had turned out to be crazy in his opinion. Of course Pebblestar had the ability to see it in a different light...probably good that she was leader and he was not. Tigerfang wouldn't have even dealt with crazy things like that. He would have just kicked Mudpaw out. Not like the apprentice was good for much anyways.

The oversized tabby brought himself to his paws and padded out of the warriors den. It felt like he had gotten hit in the head with a rock. It was unlike him to not be up before the sun was. That's when he saw him...Russetpaw eating. Oh foxdung! I forgot about him again... Tigerfang wasn't sure what it was with this apprentice. He kept forgetting he even had one. This was his 10th apprentice in his many moons of mentoring, why couldn't he remember this one?

He quickly got himself together, padding over to the apprentice, "Russetpaw! We'll be starting your training today. First is a tour of our territory, and then we'll move on to some fighting techniques before I release you to do as you please for the day." That was a long day, especially for an apprentice. Tigerfang decided he wouldn't make Russetpaw do apprentice duties today. He could save that for tomorrow...or when he wanted to sneak some alone time in with Pebblestar. "So if you're ready we can head out." He sounded pretty monotone, trying to force excitement in his voice. He loved having an apprentice- he was just overly tired.

Russetpaw glanced at his big mentor, curtly nodding,"Sounds great Tigerfang!" He meowed softly, tiredness softly edging into his voice. He knew his mentor was tired, and so was he, but he was so excited for his first training session as an apprentice, and especially with his massive mentor, who had trained many apprentices in his time.

Tigerfang nodded politely towards his apprentice. "Well we'll start by taking you to all the boring places...or at least they're boring in my opinion. We'll finish up the tour with some of the more interesting places. Come with me." With that Tigerfang quickly padded to the edge of the mountain, "Careful on the way down." He stated, thinking back to Pebblestar who was the fastest ever at getting down the mountain. She always fell down this thing faster then most cats could blink. Luckily she hadn't lost a life over it yet.

He easily bounced from rock to rock. The large tom was very graceful even though he would have never admitted it to anyone. He climbed down the mountain with much ease and waited at the bottom to watch his apprentice try it. Hopefully Russetpaw didn't break anything on his first day as an apprentice.

Russetpaw leaped clumsily from rock to rock, cautiously following his massive mentor. His ginger fur glowed as the sunlight reflected off of his fur, his golden eyes bright. His claws skidded against the rock as he timed his leaps, his tail twitching nervously, he followed as the neared the bottom of the mountain.

CaℳI I have this idea of an injury for Russetpaw; a crooked claw. What it could be is that he lands wrong on one of the rocks with his claws out, and he permantly has a crooked claw that he can't shelth any longer :3

Tigerfang's eyes widened as his apprentice tried to follow down the mountain. He was use to having apprentices that didn't like to follow the rules. Was this Russetpaw's first time down the mountain? Tigerfang didn't even want to think about it. He was starting to wonder if his apprentice was a very innocent rule follower.

"Careful, Russetpaw. Grip the rocks with your pads as best you can. No need to rush either." He tried to reassure the timid apprentice as he waited patiently at the bottom of the rocks. He watched carefully as his apprentice followed cautiously.

Russetpaw glanced over at his massive mentor, curtly nodding before he moved forward. He now moved at a slower pace, gripping the rocks with his pads, as his mentor instructed. With his ears and tail twitching nervously, he made his way slowly, but surely, down the mountain and away from his home for the first time.

Tigerfang kept a close eye on Russetpaw. The poor thing. He seemed obviously nervous. Tigerfang would take it easy on him today....or what Tigerfang considered to be easy. Either way Russetpaw would have a full day of seeing the territory and then hunting. The large mentor had decided maybe he would give him a break on cleaning the elder's den today depending on how well he listened. He didn't want to push the cat too far...nobody needed another Mudpaw around camp after all.

"Is this your first time down the mountain Russetpaw?" He finally asked, curious as to how far his apprentice had gone. He knew Moonpaw and Brackenpaw frequently had gone out on their own as kits. Maybe Russetpaw was a bit more loyal in following his parent's rules, and the clan rules as well for that matter. The mountainside wasn't a place for kits after all. Even well seasoned warriors could fall and break a bone or two.
