Stormpaw was ecstatic. It was her first time out without her mentor, and she knew the basic landmarks of the territory. Her fur was bristled, excitement rushing through her. As soon as it calmed, she raced outside of the camp, stopping a few fox lengths from the entrance. It would be no fun if another apprentice did not come along. She stuck her head in the entrance, scanning the camp. "Hmm...Hawkpaw....Lightpaw... Ugh, Heronpaw... Aha! Hailpaw!" She then squeezed her whole body into the camp, bounding straight over to the apprentice that caught her attention. "Hailpaw... Would you like to come with me outside of the camp?" She asked, her eyes lighting up.

Hailpaw was just leaving the elders den from scavenging for ticks. A grey she-cat bounded up to him and invited him outside the camp, he recognized her as Stormpaw. Surprised she suddenly invited him out with her, he stared at her for a few seconds, then felt embarrassed and nodded before turning to lick his side. His mentor hadn't shown him the territory yet, but he was determined to keep up with her.
