Mudflight bounced out of his nest and out into the clearing before reminding himself he was a warrior now - and one with an apprentice. He had to be a bit more professional than this, he silently scolded himself. but that was why he was so excited - an apprentice! Of course, he had always known his warrior skills were suitable for an apprentice, and that Tigerpaw would turn out as great as he was - but he couldn't help but feel a slight tremor of nervousness in his belly. He squashed those feelings down, pushing them aside. Even with his lack of experience, his skills could be taught. Besides, you couldn't really teach experience so in his opinion he was a good choice to mentor. He looked up at the sky. It was just about dawn - nice and early. Good, it would make him look more professional to Tigerpaw. He tasted the air, revelling in the warm scents of the morning. Wet sand, salty water and the smell of prey was in the morning. He fluffed up his fur slightly, glad for the cold. Twolegs would still show up in leafbare, but if it was chilly they would not show up and stomp around on the beach.
Mudflight padded over to the apprentice den and poked his head in. He hadn't been in here in a while. "Tigerpaw, its time to wake up." He mewed softly, mindful of the other snoring apprentices. He wouldn't want to wake them up, he had a reputation to keep up and he would rather not have other warriors being mad at him. He also remembered how annoying it was when mentors would stick their noses in and wake everyone up, and it was probably one of the worse experiences as a 'paw. Or maybe he was just lazy and a loved his sleep.
