Your New Life - OPEN, NEED STARCLANNERS

(Deku only.) We now need StarClanners to give Sunstar lives. One per person, please, and if there are already two posts, please do not post again until Deku has posted!

Once seven cats have given Sunstar a life, Fernstar will give her her ninth life.

Fernstar made her way easily from tree to tree, muscles rippling clearly beneath her pelt. When cats died, they were restored to the prime of their youth, all signs of illness and pain long gone.

Eventually, the brown tabby made her way to the clearing in which all ceremonies happened, the place where the Clans' territories met and synchronized. There was a large pond at the south end of the clearing with sand around it, towards the north was an endless view of vibrant flowers, and on the east and west, a sea of various trees.

Expecting Goldenflame to arrive soon, Fernstar slipped easily down the final tree and padded lazily into the center of the clearing, where short green grass tickled her paws and a light breeze brought on the refreshing scents of innumerable plants.

[Deku]

Goldenflame padded quietly in the direction of Skyfield. Anyone could see that the trembling golden tabby was nervous. Who wouldn't be when they were about to be given a new name and lead a whole clan of cats? What if she failed LeafClan? They were still sort of rebuilding after Silverstar, and now that Froststar had disappeared as well she had finally decided it was time to take responsibility for her clan.

Finally after a couple more moments, Goldenflame had finally made her way down through the tunnels to see a glowing crystal. This was it. LeafClan needed a leader and Fernstar had chosen her. The she-cat rested her hazel gaze on the crystal before closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. When they opened she found herself looking upon a familiar cat.

"Greetings Fernstar." She mewed softly, dipping her head respectfully.

OOC: I'm actually rather excited about this Midnight. I never expected one of my cats to be leader.

[Midnight]

(You're a good roleplayer and you've stuck around for a while. It was only a matter of time. ^^)

"I'm sure you know why you've been called here?" Fernstar asked, her tone inquisitive as she flicked her tail-tip toward Goldenflame.

"Well, I suppose that doesn't matter too much. Now that you're here, we can begin. Goldenflame," Fernstar paused when she spoke the LeafClan deputy's name aloud. The brown tabby narrowed her eyes at the living feline, hoping to intimidate her a teensy bit before continuing, "StarClan has led your paws here today because Froststar still has not made his way back to LeafClan and my Clan needs a new leader. We named you deputy for your hard work and we would like to name you leader. However, you will have to choose a bit of a new name for yourself in order to respect StormClan's Goldenstar. If you are up for this position, please let me know what you wish for your new name to be." It was something that Fernstar wasn't exactly comfortable doing - Goldenflame's name had been chosen for a reason - but it was somewhat necessary given the circumstances.

OOC: I shall stick around as well. I don't plan on leaving soon. Apparently I can't stay away for too much more than a week, and even then I was checking in just not posting.

IC:

Goldenflame waited impatiently as Fernstar talked. She wanted to get this done so LeafClan wouldn't be without leader for much longer. Yes, she was worried, but Fernstar knew what she was doing. She returned Fernstar's stare. The golden tabby was a bit intimidated, but only because this cat had known the labors involved in being leader.

"StarClan has led your paws here today because Froststar still has not made his way back to LeafClan and my Clan needs a new leader."

At this statement, she finally dropped her gaze. She was mournful. She had finally begun to have hope that LeafClan would be rebuilt by a leader, worthy of the cause. She had truly thought that Froststar would have been the one, but here she was now. Having a new name given because Froststar had disappeared and just left his clan in the dust. Maybe being a leader had taken it's toll on him.

"We named you deputy for your hard work and we would like to name you leader. However, you will have to choose a bit of a new name for yourself in order to respect StormClan's Goldenstar. If you are up for this position, please let me know what you wish for your new name to be."

A new name? She had always liked her name. It had described her perfectly. Goldenflame shrugged inwardly. "I am up for this position Fernstar. I can't leave LeafClan without a leader. They need someone to help rebuild them to be the clan they used to be before Silverstar's reign."

but what should her new name be? Yellowstar? No, too plain. She needed something less... general. Hazelstar? No, still seemed too general for her taste. What about Sunstar? Yes, she liked that. It still described her pelt, but it mentioned more as well. She would be the sun, leading LeafClan to reach for the stars.

"In order to respect Goldenstar of StormClan, I would like my name to be changed to Sunstar." She mewed, loudly.

OOC: O.O This is my longest post ever. Not including ceremonies... and sorry for tagging you so many times Midnight. If you ever want me too stop, just tell me.

Fernstar dipped her head respectfully to Goldenflame, "Sunstar it is." The brown tabby she-cat took a deep breath and stood, taking slow, meaningful steps forward. She reached out to her Clan's new leader and pressed her nose to Sunstar's forehead, "Sunstar, with this first life, I give you the life of courage in the hope that you will use it to bring your Clan out of these dark times and into the light." Fernstar backed away a bit, then sat down, raising her head and giving a soft yowl.

StarClan cats began filtering out of the trees and the meadow, filling the area. The ceremony had begun, and now seven cats would give Sunstar a life. Fernstar would give her the final life and send her on her way.

(You can now run around and do what you want, she's officially leader. ^^ We'll see how far this thread gets, but don't worry if she doesn't get all 9 lives in this thread, she has them in future threads. You can PM me about anything you want me to trash in the leader announcements board, and I'll announce this in the news box and change the high positions thread. Uhhh, trying to think of what else to tell you... oh, yes, we can discuss a deputy in PM as well.)

The small brown-and-white apprentice stepped out, dipping his head briefly to Fernstar before making his way towards the new leader, who stood nervously in the center. His heart pounded with excitement; he'd never been chosen to give a life before, and Sunstar wasn't even in his former Clan.

"Hello, Sunstar," he said politely but mournfully, bowing slightly. "My name is Ferretpaw. With this life I give you compassion, so that, even in the most tragic of times, you will find forgiveness in your heart, and the will to aid others in their moments of turmoil." Touching his nose to Sunstar's, he briefly closed his eyes, passing part of his spirit into hers. Then, he retreated back into the cats, hoping, with all his will, that Sunstar would prove a good leader.

OOC: Alright. Thanks Mid. I'll get this all sorted out as soon as possible.

Sunstar flinched as Fernstar gave her the new life. She suddenly felt the courage to jump into battle to protect her clan. She had not been expecting it. She hoped that the rest of the lives wouldn't feel like that. It had hurt more than she thought it would, and Sunstar didn't think she would be able to make it through 8 more lives like that.

Soon after the old LeafClan leader sat, a small brown and white tom appeared. 'He only appears to be an apprentice.'  She thought. 'Was he even from LeafClan?' She shook that thought away as he began to speak. As Ferretpaw touched his nose to hers she closed her eyes, bracing herself for the worst. This time however, because she was expecting pain of some sort, she was not ready for the burst of love that surged through her. 'Compassion and Courage. What's next?' She thought, nearly out loud.

[Lightningtrail]

Silverface could hardly hold in his laughter as a small apprentice gave the new leader the gift of compassion. She didn't need compassion, she needed the fire to lead her clan and the justice to not turn into Silverstar! No leader needed compassion unless they were planning on leading a clan of submissive mousehearts.

The massive tom made his way forward, his pelt laden with starlight as he made his way to the she-cat. His eyes flicked to and fro, as though he were looking for an enemy. He stopped in front of Sunstar, his eyes scanning her before he spoke. "I am Silverface, a fallen warrior of LeafClan. With this life, I "With this life, I give you endurance, so that you can keep fighting for your clan, no matter how long it takes. but only use your strength wisely, and for the good of LeafClan." The tom pushed his nose to the she-cat's, flexing his claws as he sent the life to the new leader. He then took a step back. "Use it with more wisdom than Froststar had," He muttered, mainly to himself. The tom whipped around as though the paranoid feline had expected some cat to have launched at him while he had been speaking to Sunstar, but when he saw no attacker, he simply padded off to watch the rest of the ceremony.

[Sand]

Swiftwhisper approached the to-be leader and dipped her head. She had died during Silverstars reign during the badger attack but she felt no bitterness towards Leafclan for how she had died. "With this life I give you justice, so you may judge the actions of others with not only your mind but with your heart," she meowed touching her muzzle to the to-be leaders forehead before stepping back to let someone else go.
