A Risk in the Right Direction

OOC: I thought I would start this post here as Red-dusk needs to speak with Fangstar about Raindapple (whom is waiting outside of camp). It'll move out of the den but I thought it should start here c:

Pushing his way into camp, Red-dusk watched his clanmates wander around camp. He missed nothing yet he wasn't there to watch, he was there because someone outside of camp needed his help. Unfortunately to do so he needed to talk to Fangstar first. Red-dusk respected the leader however sometimes it was nice to help others when doing so didn't have consequences. Like this would. Shaking his head to clear the thoughts that crept outside it's periphery, Red-dusk cut across camp, each step determined yet light.

Upon reaching the den, the muscular tom poked his nose just inside the entrance, keeping out until he received an invitation from the Whisperclan leader. He hoped this could all be sorted soon so that Raindapple could receive medical attention. He couldn't, wouldn't let her current state of health deteriorate. 

That deep, accented voice of his moved through the den's entrance. "Fangstar, may I please have a word."

Fangstar was in his den half asleep but he was jolted awake when he heard pawsteps right outside his den before hearing the voice of Red-dusk one of the warriors of his clan. He wondered what the tom wanted and hoped it wasn't another case of a clan mate breaking the warrior code. Before Thunderfang/stars death he had accepted outsiders in the clan and had barely punished those who broke the warrior code but since the former Whisperclan leaders death had had stopped letting outsiders join and had thrown out harsher punishments for those who broke the warrior code.

"Of course Red-dusk, you may enter," he meowed sitting out in his nest. The white leader gave his fur a quick once over with his tongue before Red-dusk could enter his den. For whatever reason he didn't like his clan mates to see that he had been sleeping or half asleep.

"Of course Red-dusk, you may enter,"

Upon hearing the words of Fangstar, Red-dusk ducked his way into the leaders den, giving a respectful nod at the white tom. Walking forward, the muscular tom sat a respectful distance away and met the leaders eyes with his strong green ones. Where did he even start? He knew that Fangstar had recently clamped down on letting other cats into the clan, hell, he'd been lucky to have been let in. He would take any punishment he received as long as she received the help she deserved.

"Fangstar, when out on the territory, I found a stray Talonclanner. She is sick with Whitecough and needs our help." A clearing of his deep accented voice. "Due to contagion, she is some while away. I understand I need to gain your approval first on this matter." What else was there to say? "I understand there are punishments for this type of behaviour but I couldn't just leave her there." To the point and truthful, there was nothing he could do except wait for Fangstars decision.

Fangstar waited until Red-dusk entered wondering what the tom could want not that he wasn't willing to listen to the problems of his clan mates if they had any. He was just worried that Red-dusk was coming to give him some bad news. The last cat who had been in his den had been his grandson Moonblaze and that had been to tell him that a certain cat had broken the warrior code by taking a cat as his mate who wasn't even in the clan. He knew he had become harsher with his punishments but he was tired of his clan mates thinking they could just walk all over him and that it was okay to break the warrior code any time they wanted.

He snapped out of his thoughts when he heard Red-dusk began to speak. The fur along his spine rippled when the tom talked about a sick Talonclan cat. "So a Talonclan cat was on our territory, its a little far from home for a Talonclan cat," he meowed looking around. He felt like he owed the Talonclan leader a debt and he figured that helping one of her clan mates would get better."Fine, the medicine cat can help her but tell only him keep this a secret from everyone else," he meowed. "Also I want you checked out to make sure you haven't caught whitecough as well from being near her," he meowed before deciding to ask the one question he wanted to ask.

"Is this a cat you love or is it just some random cat. I want the truth, whatever the truth is will determine how bad the punishment it," he meowed.

"So a Talonclan cat was on our territory, its a little far from home for a Talonclan cat."

A pause in which Red-dusk silently wondered what his leader would say next. When he continued, relief sparked in those deep green eyes. 

"Fine, the medicine cat can help her but tell only him keep this a secret from everyone else. Also I want you checked out to make sure you haven't caught whitecough as well from being near her." 

Though Red-dusk had put on a confident front with the Talonclanner, truth was, he hadn't been entirely sure that treatment would be granted. What he was sure of was that even though Fangstar had agreed to help the sick she-cat, a punishment would be delivered. A punishment he would take without issue. He had known the consequences to begin with. Green eyes flicking to meet those of Fangstar, Reddusk nodded in respect. "Thank you, Fangstar," he meowed, voice deep with gratitude. He was raising his head when his leader spoke again.

"Is this a cat you love or is it just some random cat. I want the truth, whatever the truth is will determine how bad the punishment is."

That was harder to answer. Reddusk however was not a tom to lie to improve his standing and in truth, he had no idea. Yes he had met the she cat a few times at gatherings and the two had gotten along well. but love? No, or at least he didn't think so. He remained silent for a while trying to figure out what he did feel for the she cat before answering. "I respect her and enjoy her company but love, no I do not. Friends, maybe."
