The Strong and The Desperate [Open]

The tom sat quietly, back in the shadows, his back pressed in the join of where two rocks loomed behind him, his watchful gaze on the clan. He'd finished a patrol of one side of the boundary line - a rather indepth patrol that had taken nearly 3/4ths of the day from him, and now the tom was trying not to fall asleep from the exhaustion he was facing. His tail coiled around his long legs, the plumed end brushing the cool evening air into his face. Evening. Already. And he'd started the patrol before the sun even had risen. Yet no sign of Pebblestar. He couldn't help but wonder what kind of state she'd be in when she was found. Slowly Shadowriver stood, shaking out his large, muscular from as he walked from the shadows, the extremely large cat (surely the largest in the clan) moved quietly around the outer edge, ears perking at the sounds of conversations. Clearly no one else was having any luck either . . . . Where was their leader . . . . Would she be found in time? The tom shook his head softly with a faint sigh. It was not looking too good for Pebblestar. And he couldn't help but feel some of the neighboring clans ought to be questioned.

Ivyheart couldn't believe it! She was soaking wet, WET! She just growled everything was going just fine today, she was hunting with a patrol and her apprentice Goldenpaw. When.... When.... URGH! She couldn't even think of his name, she didn't even want to think about it. She was that mad! The tom was a total mousebrained cat. She just wanted to smack his crooked grin off of his face. Her green eyes looked around camp as she padded in. Her pelt was now clean, well that was a plus but she just felt gross. She just wanted to lay in the sun now and dry off but of course she was on another patrol tonight looking for Pebblestar. Ugh. If Pebblestar hadn't run away then the clan would be just fine right now. She was pissed at the leader for running off. Ivyheart didn't want to believe that the leader of Talonclan ran away but it had been moons now since the clan has seen her. Clearly she wasn't in Talonclan territory so she must have left for good. It was annoying Talonclan was a mess and mousebrained warriors weren't helping either. She just growled as she headed off to the edge of camp to avoid her clanmates. She wan't in the mood to talk to anyone today. She just off mumbling to herself about hunting and then the heat pool and a mousebrained warrior. She wasn't even watching where she was going.

The tom was barely paying attention - which is why he didn't notice the soaking wet female, not, that was, until she'd already run into him. He blinked, stepping back a half step, looking down at what to him was a very small cat (but then again, all cats are small when you're the size of a medium size dog. He tilted his head, his voice, soft, calm, polite - but no less deep, "Excuse me." His meow was more of a murmur as he gently side stepped, so she could continue on her way, "Never thought anyone would ever run into me. Kinda hard to miss." He mused, more to himself than to the female, though he was rather curious about the fact she was wet. What had happened to her?

Ivyheart not watching anything around her because of her cloud of anger was clouding everything around her. She just felt her head and body hit something. She just blinked her bright green gaze and looked straight up at Shadowriver. This tom was huge, and when she meant huge she really meant it. She thought her close friend Tigerfang was huge this tom was defiantly larger than her intimidating tabby friend. She just flattened her ears slightly. Then she watched as he turned his gaze down at her. She just opened her mouth to say something to him when he got in the word first. She just narrowed her eyes, she was already angry and this guy really had to say that. She just frowned at him and then said with sarcasm, "Ha. Ha. Shadowriver your so large why don't you step over me!" Then she flicked her tail water droplets coming off with each flick. She then added with a snort, "Just because your large doesn't mean you are automatically in the center of attention, you know. All I see is legs when I look at you straight on why don't you look down for a change and just step over me next time please." Then she shook off her wet pelt making sure he got wet along with it.

The large, calm tom raised an ear faintly, tilting his head as he looked down at the female, before snorting once, "What ever." He finally stated, turning to not deal with the obviously crabby cat, and doing exactly what she asked. He stepped over her. The action was easy, one paw lifting over back, the sharp, strong talons glinting in the sunlight, followed by the strong, heavily muscled forelimb that held up his massive weight (well, massive for a cat). That forelimb was followed by the other, and then the hind limbs, his tail flicking behind him with it's plumed girth, moving carefully so as to not hurt her, as well as to show off the thick muscles that made up his large mass, the sharp claws that were long enough to stick out even when sheathed. There was a reason he didn't walk over cats. If they moved while he was doing so - if he landed even one paw on one, they'd likely be dead. but he was a gentleman, he'd do as they lady . . . . asked.

Ivyheart just didn't expect what happened next. She just watched as he just stepped over her. He just did it! She just watched as his large paws stepped over her. She notice that if she moved he would have probably broke a few bones with on crash down of a paw. Her jaw just dropped and she just looked at him and then just glared at him slightly. Before just laughing at him. Ivyheart just couldn't contain her laughter, she was surprise that he actually did that. but then again he could so she just laughed at him. That right there made up for the getting wet by the other warrior today. She just smiled slightly before saying, "Thank you. I really appreciate it." Then she laughed once again.

The tom tilted his head at her when she laughed, before gently shrugging, "Don't expect it to happen again. It's risky to just walk over cats. They move wrong, and they're dead." He meowed simply, flicking his tail, before finally looking back at her, "Why are you soaking wet?" He finally asked, tilting his head in confusion.

Ivyheart just nodded and just huffed saying, "Yeah I can see that now." She just blinked her bright green eyes at him remembering the large paws and the claws and she just thought of a kit getting squished by those big paws and she just shivered slightly and then. She shook out her pelt again less water flying off this time. She could feel her pelt drying in the sun and she just frowned slightly thinking about what happened with Bluethorn. She just flattened her ears slightly and spatted out still made at the blue gray tom. "Some mousebrained warrior needs to learn how to stop running and not shove others in the heat pool." She said with a slightly flick of her tail.

The tom eyed the female, a flicker of brief amusement in his eyes before the black and white tom watched her as she responded. He was a large cat, large paws, long claws. Simple as that. He tilted his head at her explination for the water, whiskers twitching, "Ah so you got shoved into the heat pool. Sounds a tad like the mousebrained warrior might be flirting." The tom teased faintly, flicking his thickly furred tail, a deep, rumbling purr echoing from his chest, "Well, it was still rude of him, what ever the reason." He added, a faint smile on his muzzle . . . though still very amused.

Ivyheart just blinked at him with a blank face. He really did not say that. She just rolled her eyes and said, "If thats what he call flirting then he must be truly mouse-brained." Then she just growled to herself if he was just then she would tear his eyes out and claw that crooked smile right of of his face. She just then heard a purr from the tom and she just gave him a look like, 'Oh come on quit teasing me you large furball' Then she just sighed and shook her head and then said, "Yeah, he seemed pretty startled by it but then again he didn't even get a word in with how much I was yelling at him." Then she just chuckled and sat down in the sun to let her fur dry out.

The large tom had to chuckle at her blank face, a faint flicker of amusement in his eyes, before grinning when she commented that 'that type of flirting' would be "truly mouse-brained." Perhaps so, but some toms were idiots when in love. but he chose not to say that. He grinned at her 'stop teasing me' look, and forced his rumble of a purr to end, his tail swishing across the ground, "I'm sure he hadn't intended to make you fall in, then . . . Sounds like an accident. Especially if he was startled. Though, I'd hate to be on the receiving end of you yelling." He added with an amused meow, watching her move to let the sun dry out her fur, "It looks like you're drying already - so you'll survive." He teased, with a grin.

Ivyheart moved more into the sun. She could feel the heat of the large orb in the sky warm up her wet pelt and she sighed. She was starting to get a bit cold but now with the sun she was feeling much better. She then watched the large warrior tail moved across the ground. She just looked at him while he was talking to her. She really got a good look at him, even if he called her out on it she really didn't care all that much. She wasn't embarrassed at all by it and she finally got to his face. She just smiled slightly, at least he knew that. She then rolled her eyes at his next comment and simply stated with sarcasm in her voice, "Nooooo... I planned on melting."

The tom chuckled, amused as the female moved into the sun, her wet fur drying quickly in the heat of newleaf (it'd have tried even faster if only it was greenleaf though), but at least she had to be feeling less cold, surely. As she did take a look over him, her gaze moving slowly, he gave her a 'what was that, about?' look when her eyes locked onto his, a faintly amused look, shaking his head, "Melting, huh? Ya, you're a pretty much missing that mark. Who knows though. Stay out in the sun for even longer, and it might happen. Remind me, are you made out of fur and skin, or mud and earth? The former might have a harder time melting than the later." He meowed with a soft chuckle, his gaze glancing over the clearing briefly, paranoia making him check for any possible targets approaching them, before he turned his gaze back towards her once more.

Ivyheart just saw his gaze and just smiled slightly, with a shrug. She really didn't know but she was glad he didn't really say anything about it but it was totally fine with her. She just then shook out her fur once again. It was pretty much dry now on her back she felt a lot better. She hated getting her fur wet that was for sure and she just listened as Shadowriver kept up with his teasing ways and she just rolled her eyes before saying, "Unfortunately I'm made out of fur and skin. So I guess not huh? but some day I wish I could just melt." Then she just watched as the large tom looked around camp before bringing his attention back to her.

The large tom chuckled at her small shrug, her slight smile before she shook out her fur again, the mostly dry fur seeming to grow more and more dry by the second, and this time the fur barely sprayed any wayter. He grinned softly, watching her roll her eyes, "Fur and skin, you sure? I thought it was rocks and pebbles." He teased with an easy smile before grinning, "Well hopefully you won't have to take an unscheduled swim again soon."
