Silvermist padded through the clearing, a small mouse dangling from her jaws. She was upset- she had wanted to catch it herself, not rely on someone else to catch prey for her. Why did she have to become a queen and be officially stuck in the nursery?

Well, she didn't have much of a choice now. Even padding to the freshkill pile was exhausting. She made her way back to the nursery and padded through the entrance. She had prepared herself for a delicious meal, but found that she was too tired to even eat. Why, why was she a queen?

Disappointed, she pushed the prey aside and settled down to sleep.

It wasn't long before she woke, feeling a sharp pain in her belly. She ignored it at first, but when another came soon after, there was no denying it. The kits were coming.

She stayed silent for a while, toughing through the pain. She didn't want those peaty medicine cats around.

However, it wasn't long before she was unable to keep from whimpering, then crying out. Suddenly, she couldn't stand it anymore.

"Someone get Sparrowleaf, or Mintpaw!" she hissed. "The kits are coming!"

Oh StarClan, the kits were coming!

The small blue-furred kit woke up startled for the cry of pain, and looked around. His pale amber eyes stared at the she-cat...Why was she in pain? Something had attacked her?

The tom then suddenly guessed that it had something to do with the kits, and he cocked his head. So...Having kits was painful? He didn't knew.

"I...I'll go for them"-He mewed quietly, lazily even. He padded outside the nursery and screamed, which was weird for him to do.

"Hey! Someone come here!"-Riverkit screamed, hoping that someone had heard him. He wanted Silvermist's pain to stop so he could return to his nap and sleep without feeling guilty.

For once in her life, Silvermist was truly frightened. In a matter of moments, she would be a mother. Oh StarClan, she would be a mother.

OOC: The kits are born...

Silvermist gazed at the six kits squirming by her belly. She expected to be filled with some sort of remorse, regret, maybe even anger. but there was none. Only a strange feeling that Silvermist assumed must be love. How strange that she could love another cat in an instant. Actually, six cats.

Suddenly, Silvermist was overcome by a desire to teach and protect and love. Silvermist suddenly wanted to be a mother. She wanted to be a real mother to these little balls of fur nestled at her stomach. She decided then and there that she would be the best mother she could be.

"Well, now that that's settled, maybe I should name you guys," she mewed, affection in her eyes as she gazed at her kits. Her first duty as a mother.

She looked at her first kit- a strong looking little male.

"Otterkit," she mewed after a moment. "And Dawnkit, and Cinderkit, and Minnowkit," she added, gazing at her three beautiful daughters. Then she turned to the last two- two sons who seemed to be struggling. She realized with a shock that they were somewhat unhealthy. It made her sad, but they were still her kits, and they were perfect.

"Kestrelkit and Flintkit," she mewed. She gathered the kits to her belly with her tail and smiled. She was tired and frightened, but somehow she would make it work. Somehow, she would find a way to be a mother.
