Newleaf sun washed over the SunsetClan camp, accompanied by a warm breeze. One would have been forgiven for mistaking it for greenleaf, with such temperate conditions. Cats were bustling about on the grassy campgrounds, chatting and sharing tongues.
Hollykit wished to be out in the territory; out in the sand. Pikestone had told her of the warm embrace of the sand, when she sprawled her body out across it. 
but that was forbidden for Hollykit until she was Hollypaw. Right now, she could venture out into the grass. The flame point she-kit needed friends, however. The Nursery was quite empty.
A tortoiseshell shecat caught her blue eye. Hollykit crept up to the kit, roaring, "BOO!" She jumped up into the air for effect. "Haha, sorry. I'm Hollykit." She flicked her tail at the other kit. "What's your name? You look pretty cool." she purred, smirking, "I'm the cool one around these parts, y'know. I could teach ya a thing or two." she remarked, flicking her tail upon the newcomer's cheek.

Shimmerkit wasn't sure what to do. It was the first time she had talked to a kit that wasn't one of her brothers.
“ I... I'm  Shimmerkit.” she stammered. Immediately regretting the decision to talk to this boisterous kit, she turned and ran away.
“ Hey!” came the answer.
Shimmerkit ran.
Longing for her mother's comfort she wandered over to the warm mossy nest she knew so well.
“ Shimmerkit! Come play with us!” her brothers cried.“ I'm not sure I should play...with you!” she sniggered, quite clearly displaying her arrogance for all to see.
“ Come now Shimmerkit, you know better than that!” said her mother. “ If you want to grow up to be a big, strong Warrior then you have to respect, everyone ! ”
“ Hmmph! ” she stormed out of the nursery. Looks like my own mother won't comfort me either! She sat thinking for a while, but not for very long. It was the kit from before! She dived into the nearest clump of hedge she could find, and waited.
