Watch Out for the Rose's Thorns (Tagged)

The spotted silver tom cat crept through the budding undergrowth, wincing as thorns caught on his short pelt. His green eyes surveyed his surroundings as he tasted the air for enemy cats. Detecting nothing but stale cat scent, he pushed his way out of the bush he had been hiding in. The tall warrior crossed confidently over the SunsetClan and LeafClan scent markers, snorting in contempt as the scent of SunsetClan washed over him. Stupid SunsetClan cats.. he thought, They should protect their borders better. but if they won't, I may as well enjoy myself. He sat down by a large tree and swiped a paw over his ear to clear some remaining thorns from his fur. Ambrose

Rosepaw stepped rhythmically through the murky darkness brought by night. She had worked really hard, and now, it was time for a bit of social interaction. There had to be someone out in the dark, trespassing. One would expect a young lass such as Rosepaw to be fiercely protective of her Clan, but if there was a trespasser, she'd hit them up. 
Wind brushed her medium-length dark red fur as she sashayed through the woods. It was pleasantly warm for the night, she realised, relishing the late newleaf warmth.

Huh?

Rosepaw's tufted ears twitched as there was a flash of fur in the darkness, an unmistakable silver. This cat nonchalantly strutted over the border, as if it were never there, with no respect for the border that had been fought over for moons in the past. 

Perfect.

Her amber eyes surveyed her surroundings before flittering over to the tom, once again. He was now sitting at the roots of a tree. She strutted confidently over to him, sitting down beside him and smirking, her flirtatiousness taking over. 

"Crossing the border? Lucky me. I'll have to deal with you... but, sweet-heart, what's your name?"

[Wolf]

The silver tom looked over with a twitch of his long white whiskers. "What's a pretty she-cat like you doing out here all by yourself?" His green eyes gleamed with amusement and flirtatiousness that mirrored Rosepaw's. "My name is Frecklethorn. Who might you be?" The LeafClan warrior responded, his long speckled tail wrapping over his pale off-white paws.

Noticed. Check. she thought, smiling. He is pretty... pretty. "What's a pretty she-cat like you doing out here all by yourself?" 
She winked, replying to his flirtatious words. "Just looking for a tom as handsome as you." His eyes gleamed, probably in response to her coy words. "Frecklethorn, huh? I'm Rosepaw." She really was proud of her name, the rose being almost as beautiful as her. Her face was soft and expressive, her current expression being a gentle smirk. She just wanted to further this conversation. "Why are you trespassing on the border, hun? Not angry, I'm delighted." She went to lick his cheek.

Rosepaw always liked to get things started early.

Frecklethorn watched her carefully, black tipped ears flicking at her words. "Your name fits a lovely cat such as yourself." He responded cooly, a smirk crossing his face as she asked why he was trespassing. "It's hard to find pretty cats like you in my own territory so I thought I might...expand my reaches." He spoke the last words staring into her eyes, returning her lick.

[Ambrose]

She knew he was good-looking, alright, but she needed a closer look. Her eyes studied him. Large, yet lithe, a short, silver speckled pelt (Hm, that must be the Freckle part of his name! realised Rosepaw) rested on his charming physique. Her gaze met his large, green eyed one, and she felt she could see rolling green hills deep inside his orbs. "Wow." she said, simply, yet powerfully. "And thanks. My mother always knew how beautiful I was." She chuckled. Every word he spoke was like sweet, sweet honey, trickling down her figuratively dry throat. "Oh, really? I would say the same with the toms in my Clan, yes, not half as handsome as you, my dear." Their gaze met, and she felt euphoric, and then he licked her.

She didn't know she could fall in love this fast.

[Wolf]

Frecklethorn rose to his paws and slowly circled her, letting his long tail brush against her cheek before he sat down beside her. "Perhaps I should keep coming back over here if it means getting to relish in your beauty." His voice was smooth like a fresh new leaf breeze and a new look appeared in his eyes. He seemed to be feeling just as strongly as she was. As a cat who flirted with every she-cat in his midst, this new feeling startled him - though he didn't let Rosepaw know that.

This could end badly, thought Rosepaw, but I'll deal with it then. She started to mull over him, her eyes drifting along his spotted pelt. Frecklethorn was definitely a few moons older than her, obvious from his body, which was just what Rosepaw was looking for. A big, strong tom to protect her.

Her heart beat quickly, her tail twitched anxiously, and she struggled to keep her body from falling into his. This was unusual. Rosepaw must have flirted with every tom in her Clan, and she never was the prisoner of such anxiety. 

Now Frecklethorn got up and circled her, closing in on his prey, his tail tickling her furry cheek, and he sat beside her. She opened her mouth to ask him about himself, but she canceled them as soon as he started talking. "Perhaps I should keep coming back over here if it means getting to relish in your beauty." Her eyes met his, hers unblinking. It was obvious to anyone what she felt about this statement. 

                                                                         Joy, so much joy.

"Please do. I wish to see you, so I can relish in your striking presence." she spoke, gently. His eyes changed gradually to a look of warmth, and hers softened to meet his warmth, too. 


She leaned closer to him.


"Tell me more about yourself."

[Wolf]

Frecklethorn allowed a rumbling purr to emit from his throat as Rosepaw leaned against him. "Tell me more about yourself." Her question didn't startle him, but he wasn't expecting it either. "Oh what things should I share with you, dear Rosepaw?" He pondered for a moment. "I spend a lot of time hunting and running when I'm not wandering over borders to visit pretty apprentices." The speckled tom's body shook lightly with laughter. "And you?"

Rosepaw's body trembled slightly, yet comfortably, as his purr rumbled through her. I could get used to this, she mused playfully, her paws kneading the leaves on the ground, his purr convincing hers to show itself. Rosepaw's suspicion roused, however, when he said, "Oh, what things should I share with you, dear Rosepaw?" Though, after a moments-worth of thinking, he answered her. "I spend a lot of time hunting and running when I'm not wandering over borders to visit pretty apprentices." Her face stayed rather emotionless until his final words, in which she smiled, her eyes softening. "I love hunting, too! What's your favourite prey? Mine is trout." she mewed breezily.

Frecklethorn flicked his ears as Rosepaw asked his favourite prey, his nose twitching as she mentioned trout. "I love squirrels - they spend as much time in the trees as I do." He paused for a moment before adding, "I've never eaten fish before." Wrapping his spotted tail over his paws, he glanced up at the sky. "How fast can you run?" He mewed after a couple heartbeats of silence.

Rosepaw couldn't stop looking at him; he looked like a warrior of the days of old. Whenever her eyes would lock with his, bubbles of joy were produced in overwhelming quantities in the factory of feelings inside of her. 
As she went to reply to him about his adoration of squirrels, a squeal of joy escaped her. "I hope you don't mind that!" she mewed, giggling, flicking him gently. "Well, I do enjoy a squirrel sometimes myself. but we don't get a lot in SunsetClan; that's what makes them so delicious. They're a delicacy, almost." Her eyes widened as he said he had never tried fish. "What a weirdo!" she purred, adding, "I like toms different.", seduction present in her final word. 

Frecklethorn moved his tail to wrap it around his paws and gazed up at the sky, silence befalling them both. She opened her mouth to speak, but he had a better thing to say, probably. "How fast can I run?" she mused. "Depends who it's for.. but I'd say I could run with you. Hey, the beach isn't so far away.. maybe we could get some fish, so you could try it?"
