I'm going on a caterpillar hunt... || OPEN

OOC: I am super bored and want to do something with Maplekit. I am thinking that she gets hurt in some way, possibly a permanent injury... I am opoen to anything from her falling in the river to a badger attacking her XD I just want something exciting!

Maplekit scrambled through the leafy undergrowth. She was determined to catch something for her clan. The little tortoiseshell scrambled through a clump of ferns then stopped in front of a tall tree. She gazed up at the leafy branches. I wonder what it would be like to climb the tree... I've heard the apprentices and warriors talk about climbing trees, and I'm almost an apprentice! Just 3 moons to go. She padded closer to the tree and dug her small claws into the tough bark. She then tried to pull her self up. After a few moments she slithered back to the ground, exhausted. I'm going to look for some prey! She bounded off, deeper into the forest. A crow let out a loud shriek and flew out in front of her. She let out a yowl and fel backwards as the bird flew out from the bushes in front of her. She lay on the ground, shocked. It's just a bird......just a bird.... Just then she saw something inching along the ground. It was a little green caterpillar! She pounced on the small green creature. My first prey! She sat down and sniffed at her catch. Bleurgh! It smells gross! She pushed it away from her and began to adventure further into the wilderness.

Clawpaw felt the leaves crunch under his paws as he traveled through StormClan's territory. His bright blue eyes stared straight ahead, almost as if the blind tom was capable of scanning the area with his eyes. but inactuality, he was not using his eyes at all. No, the tom's nose was quivering as it picked up scents, his mouth parted in order to use the sensitive top of his mouth as he smelled the forest. His ears were pricked as he searched for signs of life. His extra toes felt the ground below him as he moved, slowly but surely, through the wilderness. He had been told that he should not go out alone because he was blind, and for a short while he believed them. but the second he tracked, stalked, and killed his first prey, a mouse, without his mentors help, he knew he could go out alone. He was just as capable as any other.

His nostrils flared as he caught the scent of cat. The scent of milk flooded his nose as well. Even if a kitten was weaned from the milk, the whole nursery stank of it. The smell would surely stick to a kitten, even if they were old enough to leave the nursery. Clawpaw could swear that he could still smell it on himself sometimes, but everyone else assured him that he did not anymore. Oh well, he must just have a better sense of smell. but, if he was smelling milk all the way out here, a kitten must have escaped the confines of the camp to wander. And that was never good for the kit.

Clawpaw picked up the pace and his ears gave another flick as he listened for the kitten. He heard a yowl, sharp and shrill, and broke out into a run. That was dangerous for him, as it was much easier to run into something when he was unable to smell what was around him or feel the ground beneath his feet for long, but he would not let this kitten get hurt. To be honest, this was the first time he had gone into a full run outside of the camp, but he would not dwell on that. He just needed to make sure this kitten was ok, and then get it back to camp.

Clawpaw noticed the sound of footsteps and knew he was close. He broke out of the undergrowth, and was attacked by a smell. He took a step back as his nose was bombarded with the smell. "What are you doing?!" He called. but something was caught in his nose, and he took a double take. "Wait...Maplekit?" He asked hesitantly. He could remember playing with her when he was still a kitten. If she would just talk, then he would know for sure.

She spun around at the sound of pawsteps coming after her. Then Clawpaw burst from the bushes. What are you doing? Wait...Maplekit? She looked into his blind eyes. What should I do? Should I tell him it's me? She stood there, wondering what to do. She sighed. Yes, it's me. I know I broke the warrior code blah blah blah blah. but it's just so boring staying in camp all the time! I just wanted to do something useful. Now she was going to have to be marched back to camp like a naughty kit. but that's what you are! She pushed the thought away. Will you take me to Goldenstar? She asked nervously. What if he says that I can't be an apprentice!?
