the sun had been up in the air for quite awhile by the time the fluffy she-cat left her nest to bask in its warmth, but she couldn't help it, she was exhausted. it was nice being away from her mother for the most part, but managing her time and finding a decent time to go to bed was something she wasn't even close to mastering. her dark blue gaze drifted over the sea of mixed pelts, all of them lazing around and resting from their early morning duties and she couldn't help but smirk, she had been able to get by without any damage to her new apprenticeship. I could get used to this, softpaw thought with content before stepping towards the middle of the camp, trying to avoid stepping on tails in the process. 

once she got to the middle, her head turned again, surveying the cats yet again and she almost internally rolled her eyes: no one seemed interesting enough to talk to so she wasn't going to try. someone would have to come up to her for the conversation and she hoped that they would be interesting enough to contrast from the sleepy environment that proved to be true for the whisperclan cats. softpaw stretched out her limbs before following suit and laying down on the ground, her eyes fixated on her white paws and she waited. just as she slipped into her mind, softpaw heard the sound of paw-steps headed her way.

Wolfpaw padded towards the white she-cat, wondering if she could make a new friend. She sat beside her and waited to be noticed, as she was not going to start off on a bad note. Of course, she loved attention, but wanted to give the other cat a chance to speak before she interrupted.

Breaking from his run through Whisperclan territory, the muscular tom slowed down to a walk as he made his way through the camp entrance. Back to his confinement, back to the bustling camp.

Back to his dark thoughts and itching paws.

Time was ticking and the moment Raindapple went back to Talonclan, he could be out there scouring the land for anything that brought him closer to his brother. The cunningly handsome rogue that continued to make his life hell without knowing. Without even knowing he was alive.

It was like he passed through a veil of some sort, the confident yet secretive tom he had been with Raindapple turning quiet, almost deadly in his pain, his thoughts. Black tendrils moved forward to mask his vision as the handsome tom moved to the center of the camp and selected himself a small mouse. He was used to not ever having enough. The clan was not, and even though prey was now vibrant, old habits died hard.

Sometimes, they didn't die but lay stagnant as he tried his best to repress them.

Green eyes took in everything around him even though he seemed in his own world. There, to the right of him were two young apprentices clearly not friends but potentially about to be. He on the other hand served his clan and was not currently in the mood to make friends and influence cats. Turning his back on them as he moved away from the freshkill pile with the mouse swinging from his jaws, Reddusk moved to the edge of camp and had barely settled down before his sharp fangs ripped into the soft flesh.

Unforgiving.

A familiar memory, and one he was going to satisfy again soon, starting with that traitorous brother of his.

softpaw couldn't help but turn her head when the vibrations on the ground stopped and there was no voice to makeup for the silence, normally someone greets another when walking up to them, but...her gaze turned to the silent cat who took in suit in sitting. it wasn't that she didn't know names, it just wasn't her strongest ability, remembering a face and a pelt was far more effective than remembering a name that was just bound to change time and time again and she was in luck, the she-cat who took a seat next to her had a unique pelt: white with black extremities. weaselpaw? no....wolfpaw? maybe, she thought before feeling some annoyance grow as the silence continued on. 

the dainty she-cat shifted her body in a position that made it favorable to talk to wolfpaw. a sweet smile danced on her lips before finally thinking of something to say that wasn't mean...mean wasn't in her agenda today, but she certainly felt some words and phrases coming to her head such as, what do you want? but she held it back, wrapping her white and ginger tail around her paws. "hello, am I in your way?" just as she opened her mouth again to continue her conversation with the she-cat next to her, she noticed a disturbance in the rather calm sea.

a marbled red pelt had briskly made it's way to the prey pile and then stopped and looked at the two she-cats for a brief moment, looking more irritated than anything. softpaw's gaze lingered on his missing ear before drifting back to the she-cat in front of her and she couldn't help but let out a small comment, "hopefully we're not in his way." although she tried to forget the toms presence, the nagging question whirled in the air and she found herself shamelessly staring again. "what crawled up your rear and died?" she snorted loud enough so he could hear, losing the smile that she was known for having.

Wolfpaw, uncontrollably, giggled at what the apprentice next to her had said, earning a glare from the red cat. This prompted her to shut up instantly, knowing that it would be a bad idea to make him mad.

She turned her gaze to the apprentice beside her, "Hi! I'm Wolfpaw!" She greeted.

OOC: Just a wee note Spirit, by saying 'earning a glare from the red cat' you are powerplaying as I have not written for Reddusk to do that in this point of time. Just letting you know now so that later on you don't get in trouble for it ^^"

A gentle wind blew at the handsome toms marbled pelt, yet he barely felt it.

He barely felt the soft grass beneath his paws and the feeling of fur on his maw, or mouse in his mouth only just made it to his attention. He was a thousand miles away, already out there scouring the plains for the dangerous rogue that looked so alike to him. That he had once shared a comradery that rivaled others, that he had once been so similar to yet the opposite at the same time.

Or maybe he still was.

"What crawled up your rear and died?"

The sound of a young voice caused him to turn his head, those dark green eyes finding and locking onto a she cat apprentice, on of the ones he had noticed when he had first stepped back into camp. Oh, sweet, if only things were that simple. If it was any other point in his life any other point in his clan life, Reddusk might have ventured over to ask the young cats exactly what they had meant, cast a sly joke and a flick of that solo ear. Today however, today Reddusk felt on edge. This.. anger, this urge to be out there now hunting him down and- ahem, he was in no position to go over and start casual conversation.

So the muscular tom stayed where he was, standing over his carcass, putting a safe distance between them. For their sake not theirs. Not many knew, if at all of his previous life, which made him both dangerous and a strong ally. It was odd, that the cat before him reminded him so much of the one waiting for him, healing, just outside the camp - a fiery nature in such a fooling exterior. And so, with that realization at paw, Reddusk lifted an eyebrow as he looked across at the two of them. "Ah, I wondered what that was. Now all my problems are solved." If only. An unsual accent plagued his words.  Keeping his anger and frustration at his brother on a tight leash, Reddusk left his kill to walk across camp, his strong legs pushing him along with ease.

the petite she-cats gaze continued to look at the tom sitting not to far off, scrutinizing his appearance even more. he wasn't hard on the eyes at all, which made looking at him just a little too easy, a orange marbled pelt wasn't something that she could see day in and day out in the clan, a vast contrast from the rest of hers. not only did the toms pelt stand out,  he was larger in stature and had captivating green eyes...but the only thing she could focus on was his missing ear. no cat that she knew was born with one ear, and this tom was probably no different, so what happened? going over the possible scenarios in her head softpaw forgot the she-cat sitting next to her until she heard the laugh coming from her mouth.

the white-she cat looked over for a brief second and gave a small proud smile, still slightly caught off guard but that didn't matter much, she made the she-cat laugh and that was good enough. what she wanted was to hear his reaction or see it, but when the she-cat stopped laughing almost immediately, softpaw frowned and looked back at black and white apprentice, slightly concerned on why she stopped so suddenly, but before she could say anything or question why she stopped, the she-cat finally spoke her name. I was right! "hey, I'm softpaw, nice to meet you," she smiled, "I really haven't seen you around here much...how old are you?" that wasn't technically true, she had seen the she-cat around the clan and in the apprentice den, but she never got around to talking to her...and she was curious to see how old wolfpaw was compared to her. 

softpaw smirked and looked at the tom who answered her question in a sarcastic was only to see him getting up to leave his previous place. it was odd though, the way he talked wasn't like any of the cats she interacted with...and that was a lot. almost mimicking the older tom, her eyebrow raised in confusion but she decided to talk back anyway as the tom started to move to the opposite side of camp, almost brushing off her and wolfpaw. the small she-cat got up on her long legs and almost began following him, but her senses kicked back in and she just moved so he could hear her. "you're welcome, but I think something else might be bugging you, a tick in your fur perhaps?" she started with the same voice she had previously had, "what's up with your voice, sunshine?" no, she wasn't trying to be mean, she was just curious as to why the tom was so different to the rest of them and she wanted to keep him around until she figured out why.
