Now we can, um, talk in private, for now Foxpaw said to Dustpaw, licking his ear With no Aspenkit being grossed out, though that was funny she purred, she sat down, licking her damp fur, feeling lucky that it was semi-water resistant, and happy Dusstpaw was with her. Foxpaw purred again.

Yeah, what do you want to talk about about Dustpaw meowed shyly. He felt comforted when she licked his ear. He laughed about the kit being grossed out. He sat down next to her and started purring. He licked he ear like she did to him. He didn't get red and his eyes didn't get wide. He got over his fear. He wasn't embarrassed around her anymore. He was so happy.

poppystripe searched carefully for a place to sunbathe. the newleaf sun was always her favorite and sunset island was a perfect place for her to spend some time alone. she found a smooth, flat rock drenched in the rays of the sun. as she rested her head on it she was immediately disturbed by the sounds of cats. so much for spending time alone, thought poppystripe as she twitched her red tipped tail in annoyance.

she tasted the air to find out who the cats were. she was taken back as the scents of foxpaw and dustpaw filled her nostrils. they were together... and it didn't look like they were hunting or patrolling the borders. she hadn't realized that they spent so much time together. she knew that it was none of her buisness about what the apprentices did together but her former concerns still filled her mind.

she padded to the stream, I don't need  to worry, if anything happens their mentors will handle it. they were both sensible cats nothing bad will happen. she swam back to camp full of hope and trust for her clanmates.

Foxpaw scented poppystripe ahead, and called out to late, the cat had already left oh well she sighed softly

Anything Foxpaw responded after she just barely missed Poppystripe. I just want to talk, and spend time with you Dustpaw She said, licking his ear again, and laying her tail on top of his, purring softly Your eyes got very wide when Aspenkit mentioned us falling in love, want to talk about why? Foxpaw said, just wanting to talk.

Dustpaw had no idea what to talk about. I want to spend time with you too, he said smiling. She licked his ear again, so he did the same. My eyes got wide? he said trying to act like he wasn't embarrassed at all. Well its because...umm......well..I kinda really like you, he finally said. He half smiled hoping this wouldn't end bad. He remembered Brightkit. Then she slipped out of his mind like she did out of his life. Foxpaw was different. He waited for her to say something.

I really like you too Foxpaw purred A lot of cats are expecting us to become mates(or at least think Dustpaw and Foxpaw are doing the cat version of dating) I would like that, would you? Foxpaw told him, hoping it wouldn't go wrong. She licked his head, still purring

Dustpaw was so happy that Foxpaw liked him back. He was surprised that other cats in his clan paid attention to his relationships. Maybe he was popular. Dustpaw would love to be her mate but he couldn't speak. It was like joy clogged his throat. I would love that, he finally pushed it out. He felt better when she licked his head. He did it back too.

I wish we didn't have to wait until we are warriors Foxpaw sighed Wouldn't that be better, there's nothing in the warrior code about it, unless Ratstar says it's not aloud, then we could get in trouble she sighed but at least we're in the same clan so we can be mates when we are warriors The she-cat purred, louder than before and she twined her tail with Dustpaw's.

I feel the same way. Dustpaw said. He purred ad closed his eyes. He felt the soft breeze. He was impatient, and didn't want to wait. Maybe we are a little young, if we didn't wait other cats would scold us. he said. He felt a little weird inside. He didn't like were this was heading. It was just a crush and she is thinking about kits! He didn't want to hurt her feelings. He wanted to wait until warriors. He smiled and let her play with his tail.

Realizing she made Dustpaw a little uncomfortable she licked his ear I suppose I am thinking too far ahead aren't I she said slightly embarrassed, she shuffled her paws sorry if I made you uncomfortable Foxpaw said she stopped purring looking at Dustpaw blinking, she then layed her head on her paws still laying by the tom

Dustpaw let her lick his ear. He felt so much better and he did the same to her. Don't feel bad, everybody has hopes and dreams and we all want them to come true as fast as possible, he said. I dont feel that uncomfortable, you did nothing wrong, he said. He licked her ear once more and smiled.

Foxpaw started purring again and returned the lick and smiled back do you have a mentor she asked, changing the topic. The she-cat twined their tails again, Foxpaw had noticed Dustpaw's smile at that before, and wanted him to be happy like she was. Foxpaw rolled onto her side, her back pressed againsed Dustpaw's side

Poppystripe returned to sunset island, everywhere else she went she was bombarded by here clanmates. the scent of Foxpaw and Dustpaw filled her nostrils again. they were still here, why? she knew why, young love, really young love. she was starting to have doubts about the relationship between the two cats. she still thought that their energy would be better spent engaging in clan duties, Poppystripe did her par why didn't they? did Dustpaw even have a mentor? Poppystripe rolled her eyes and layed her head down on a rock. sunbathing was better than babysitting.
