Lakepounce
"OKAY THRUSHLEAP, I'LL GO SOLO HUNTING!!" Lakepounce shouted over her shoulder at the deputy, who was shaking his head. Before he could say more, she had pelted out of sight, leaving only a trail of dust behind her. Free! She was free from the annoying grasps of Thrushleap. Ha! Stupid half-brother.
The youthful warrior pranced across the meadow. The breeze blew cheerfully in her face, and she breathed a breath. Lakepounce sniffed the air noisily. Nope, no rabbits. It was probably because she had scared them all off by running all over the place, but point was, there was no food to catch. And Lakepounce refused to go back to camp empty-pawed, and get a lecture from Thrushleap. The annoying furball had always pissed her off. Especially since he was her half-brother; she had just found out the news right when her mother died.
"Well, since he isn't here..." she meowed out loud. The large hill separating WhisperClan and StormClan appeared before her eyes, and she gazed up. Letting out a playful yowl to no one, she charged up the hill, and, breathless, stared at the forest below her. It must be full of prey.
"Hm..." peering over her shoulder, she made sure no cat, especially not Thrushleap-the-fox-head, was there, she tiptoed down the hill. Pausing at the border, she disguised her scent by jumping into nearby ferns. Then, she crept just slightlyover the border. Lo and behold, there was a mouse not far away. Giggling at her sudden success, she crouched, and pounced with ease. Mice are so much slower than rabbits.Taking her stolen prize back onto her side, she rolled in the ferns once more to get rid of the enemy stench. Then, picking up the mouse, she skipped up the hill again, and prepared to head home. Problem was, she needed to think of a good reason why mice had suddenly appeared on WhisperClan territory.
