Milkpaw padded after her mentor with faint interest. This would be their first formal training session together, her first step towards becoming a real warrior. Though to be honest she wasn't quite sure what the training session was going to be about. Had her mentor mentioned what they were going to do before they left? Maybe. Milkpaw gave a quick glance towards Skydapple, wondering if she should ask what the plan was for today. but she decided against it right off the bat. Skydapple really didn't seem the type to enjoy answering questions she may or may not have already explained just a few moments prior.

Wait, had Skydapple been talking just now or was she just imagining it? If she had it wouldn't be the first time Milkpaw had gone deaf to all those around her. Or had she just imagined Skydapple speaking, as many cats probably would have started talking at this point?

Milkpaw let out a soft, "Uh huh..." She kept her gaze partially towards her mentor but still part focused on her surroundings so her words could be interpreted as an acknowledgement to what Skydapple may or may not have said or just her passively noting her surroundings. Yeah, that usually worked.

The brown-and-white she-cat glared at her glaze-eyed apprentice. "Are you listening to me, Milkpaw? Have you heard a word I've said? I've been telling you all out the territories, and you don't remember anything?" sighing, she started over. "We'll move on for now, to hunting.

"Hunting requires a basic crouch. Now, this position is very important- it is also the base position for attacking and defending, which we'll get into later. The crouch looks like this-" Skydapple demonstrated, dropping low to the ground, her belly flat. "Observe what I'm doing, and now try it yourself. Can you tell my why my tail is flat?"

Milkpaw startled at Skydapple's words. Or rather, startled as much one who was only half their could. She had been talking about the territories? Wait, no, know she was lecturing her on something else. Milkpaw made a point to stare directly at her this time, lest she give anymore bad impressions.

"Don't worry, Skydapple," Milkpaw nodded, "I'm listening." She was now anyway.

Milkpaw didn't respond for a few moments, silently taking in how Skydapple had positioned her body. "Hold on," was her only remark. Milkpaw maneuvered herself to copy her mentor's position, turning her gaze every so often to check if she was doing in correctly. "Hold on," she repeated and gave a guess, "Is your tail flat, so the prey can't see where your are?"
