The [Swift] wind on a [Misty] night (puddles)

Puddlesdog, I thought that we could do another thread for Mistypaw and Swiftpaw....?

The sleek black apprentice moved silently through the forest, his mind fixed on where he was going. The young tom was fed up in camp. Everyone expected him to be something that he wasn't and Swiftpaw didn't like that one bit. He stopped as an owl hooted overhead. Relaxing, he continued on his journey. Finally, Swiftpaw found it. The Willow Tree stood there, it's pinky leaves standing out among the tall oaks. He padded to the base of the slender tree and looked up into it's bows. The forest was eerily silent tonight, the only sound that could be heard was the whistling of the wind and the occasional creak of a tree. The apprentice lept up into the Willow Tree, climbing higher and higher until he was at the top. The branches here  were thin and could barely hold his weight. but Swiftpaw needed some time to think. He sat there in a fork and looked up at the moon. It shone down on him and reflected off his glossy fur, making him appear silver rather than black. He hadn't been out at night since he and Mistypaw had slept under the stars together. He sighed as his thoughts strayed towards the pretty apprentice. He missed the time that they had spent alone together. I wonder where she is now...

Mistypaw winced as the apprentice dens noise started up again. The laughter, the screaming, the talking, it swarmed around her like angry bees. "Bye." She mumbled the excuse before her paws hit the ground causing friction, for her to go forward. "Hurry.." She whispered to herself, eyes large with fright. What if someone caught her, what if she got in trouble? What if.. That's it! She pulled to a stop at the Willow Tree, the one place she had fun at. Swiftpaw, I need Swiftpaw.. To make this dream corn true.. she shook her head. She would never do that again, she had been joyful, and now it scared her. Mistypaw felt her eyes grow teary. She sat on her rump and curled her tail around her paws, what if he had been joking, what if he didn't like her personally, just for the looks. She blinked rapidly to hold back tears, and jumped as she heard a rustle. She was not alone. "Hi. Swiftpaw?" Her jaws opened in utter disbelief, what a coincidence. Neither good nor bad. And she was not good at climbing. Mistypaw bit her lip, "Uhh, if it's you could you, come- come down? From the tree I mean, yeah.." The akwardness crept up her spine. What if it wasn't him? Crud, this could be bad.

Suddenly an all too familiar scent washed over him. Mistypaw? He slid down the trunk of the tree and saw, to his surprise, Mistypaw sitting at the bottom of the Willow Tree. Hi. Swiftpaw. He landed on the ground a tail length from her, his silver eyes warm. M-Mistypaw. He didn't know what to say. What brings you here tonight...? He sat down, suddenly nervous around the pretty she-cat. He looked into her eyes and was drawn into them. The cold turned into warmth and he relaxed. Swiftpaw looked down at his feet. I wonder if she came to find me..?

"Oh, Swiftpaw. I was just exploring, and -and I remembered the fun time we had here, and imagining is much more fun then getting yelled at." She said, her eyes sparking slightly. How weird can I get? Her thoughts made her stomach churn as she looked into silver eyes, his silver eyes.. She smiled kindly, enough of her nonsense. Mistypaw stood up, her bones moving swiftly and quietly. "Err, Swiftpaw.. Look, uhh... You. And me. We- I think we are good friends, can we stay that way?" Her mouth was open and asking before her brain could function. Just, the way he looked at her, made her feel awkward, but at the same time, special.

He was distracted by her sparkling eyes and it took a moment for him to realise that she had asked him a question. Swiftpaw was startled by her question. Are we friends? I want us to be. I want it more than anything in the world. He twined his black tail around her silver one. Yes. We are good friends and we will stay that way. Forever. He purred, his mind flitting back to when they had slept under the stars and had been alone for one night. He wanted to press himself against her now, to feel the rushing feeling that being close to her made him feel. The warmth that spread through him and made him feel so happy and safe. Swiftpaw looked into her eyes. The most beautiful sight in all of the clans...
