Isilme: Sorry about not starting this until now, I was up to my neck in school work between EOC, State tests, and finals, but now I'm out of school so I was hoping you'd still be interested in trying these two out ^^
It was fairly quiet. The wind was still so there wasn't too much ruffling within the trees, aside from the occasional flight of a bird. It was as if the forest itself was sleeping, the song of the birds acting as a lullaby lulling the creatures that scuttled along the floor, as well as the predators who hunted them, to sleep.
There were some who were smarter than to sleep in this peace. There were the ones who knew now would be the best time to be out and about, finding helpless unsuspecting rodents, or preoccupied song birds.
In the higher branches of the trees a shadow lurked virtually soundlessly. You'd have to be listening or looking for it to know it was there. A lean silver-white cat surveyed a set of bushes with claw-like thorns sticking out of them. Her blue eyes cold, scanning them, patiently waiting for a proper opportunity. Some would call her reckless, others foolish, but no. She called it a challenge- stalking the armed barricade, the personal warriors and defenders of her target. A single rodent.
Why go through so much work for something that wouldn't even hold her over? Well, that's the thing. She wasn't a huntress that did her job for herself, but rather because she had a soft spot for the ones who could not complete the task themselves. And what better way to teach them to respect their mouthfuls then to explain the struggle she went through to get it.
