Light Amber eyes flicked side to side as a light grey tabby slipped through the woods with the walk of confidence, his eyes flickering with dark glee. The slight unstable bits of his mind were shown, ever so slightly, with every step he took to the place of his battle-new scars labeled upon his body as he prepared for the next fight-which victory was to be attempted. No taking chances today, nor holding back today. All was to be let loose. Even his demons.

Finally the massive elder apprentice stood in the midst of the battle ground, and ever so slightly smirked to find his opponent no where to be found. With a roll of his eyes he stepped forth from the shadows and awaited the other apprentice to come forth, and he would let this one have the first hit. This time.

Hawkpaw was glad to be here; she had overcome the last battle, and was ready to face this one. The cinnamon shecat wove through underbrush to get to the West, her body moving flawlessly through the nettles; none stuck to her short fur. When she reached the clearing, the other cat was there; a tom. He had a sort of evil glint in his eyes, she thought. And Hawkpaw was all for defeating evil.
but he was standing there, as if he was waiting for her to make the first attack. Hawkpaw had learned that sometimes, when a cat waits for you, it's not an easy opportunity; it's the cat going to crush you. So she taunted him, "Come, you coward.. Show me what you've got. Bet it's not a lot, you scrawny piece of foxdung." She knew he wasn't scrawny; well built, in fact, but it was a taunt to provoke him, and she waited for her response.

A smirk lightened up the tom's features as his opponent finally appeared, and for him to only be met with a few doses with taunting that only made that maniacal smirk widen. Light Amber eyes stared at the she-cat before him with the same intense interest, studying her movements and facial emotions, before he let his large body move ever so slightly, yet not at all in the direction of opponent."Now why would I do that, if I am such a coward as you have stated? Why would I cross the distance when I am said coward, hmm? I am mearly acting as you have stated." There it was, that smart ass smirk that so many people hated, and in the moment he let her think he was awaiting her attack-he struck, crossing the distance in mere moments and jumping to the side of the she-cat, before rearing his hind legs and aiming to smash into the flank of the she-cat.
