She Sings In The Morning (Scarlett and Open)

The older she-cat had her head laid on her paws, green eyes narrowed against the bright greenleaf sun. Her fluffy brown tail lay straight out behind her, the tip twitching occasionally. Lifting her head, Briarspring stretched her jaws in a yawn. I need to do something, morning hunting isn't nearly enough. She thought to herself. The brown tabby warrior swiveled her head to look around camp, watching all her Clanmates as they went about their business; returning from patrols, apprentices coming back from training, kits chasing each other in the nursery clearing... A heavy sigh shook the she-cat's body. I'm getting older, Cinderweb is a warrior now. I need to do something.
Briarspring dug her claws into the soft ground beneath her as she thought, working grass up as well as soil into her soft white paws.

Her blue and green eyes darted around her home as she slipped through the entrance. The white and light orange tabby carried her share of prey from the morning hunt she went on. She always signed herserlf up for morning patrols and hunts now a days, since the days were getting hotter. Trotting lightly through camp, Rosefire dropped off her catch to the prey pile. The young she-cat pondered for a moment and decided to head out for a morning swim before it became too hot and the apprentices would show up. Passing through the clearing, she made her way towards the entrance once again. That was of course until she tripped over a tail of an older she-cat who was laying in the clearing. Rosefire picked herself up and looked down at the cat. "I-I'm very sorry..."

Briarspring leaped up with a yelp of surprise and pain, spitting crossly. "Watch it kit!" The older warrior hissed, lashing her tail and examining the worried patch of fur where it was stepped on. "Don't young cats watch where they're putting their paws anymore?" She grumbled, shaking her head crossly. "What's your name?" Briarspring asked after a moment. "I don't recognize you." The brown striped fur on the she-cat's shoulders began to lay flat again as she looked over the cat that had so carelessly tripped over her. She narrowed her pale green eyes and studied the ginger and white cat before her. She definitely has a look of youthful ignorance about her, can't be more than 25 moons old. Briarspring thought to herself.

Rosefire looked down at her paws as the she-cat hissed at her. The skin underneath her pelt grew hotter and hotter. You're a warrior not a kit prancing around the camp! Watch out for others. She scolded herself. The tabby could feel the eyes of onlookers passing by. Slowly raising her head, she saw her clanmate's fur settling down. "Rosefire. I really am sorry." She said, gazing at the cat. "Please forgive me." She never liked cats being mad at her and always went out of her way to make up for what she had done.

[Whiteleaf]

A silver tabby she-cat lifted her head from her nice warm nest in the warriors den, hearing normal cat murmurings outside. After her little morning nap, Lakestorm felt more well rested than before. She had stayed up late the night before, and then went out on the dawn patrol early in the morning. The warrior got up and picked her way out of the warriors den, her bright eyes narrowing as they adjusted to the sunlight. Just as she was about to cross the clearing, Lakestorm saw one of her clanmates trip over the tail of an older looking she-cat. Her eyes widened in slight surprise when she heard Briarspring snap at the younger warrior. She moved her ears forward and inched a little bit closer to try and see what was going on.

Briarspring lashed her tail and hissed sharply in impatience, though the fur on her shoulders began to lay flat again. If her muzzle wasn't white, it would be clear to her Clanmates that the cranky she-cat was getting quite old and it would be unsurprising for her to be short tempered. "Sorry for snapping at you, Rosefire. I'm Briarspring." The old queen huffed, letting the rest of her fur smooth back down as she rasped her tongue quickly over her side before turning her pale green gaze back on the timid young she-cat in front of her.
The sound of shuffling paws alerted her again. Turning her head to the side, the brown and white tabby blinked for a moment at Lakestorm before meowing, "I won't bite, you don't have to inch over here like a frightened mouse." She rasped. Her voice sounded harsh, but had a teasing tone to it. She shook her head with a breathy chuckle and settled back down onto her haunches. "Oh don't mind me, young cats. It's about time I left the running around to you."

Rosefire watched the older she-cat, not knowing if she was going to continue yelling at the younger cat. She really didn't mean to step on the cat's tail. The orange and white tabby was just looking forward to a nice swim before it got too crowded. Relaxing a little bit as Briarspring calmed down and apologizedirty for yelling the she-cat simply noded her head. "No that's okay." The tabby spoke softly as her gaze shifted to the other warrior coming up.

Great, just what I need more cats to come up ask questions, look at me like I'm being kitish while I just stand there with my mouth closed.

Rosefire wasn't great around cays she didn't know. She tried to be as polite as she could but she wasn't the social bee, going around and talking to every cat. She was the one who liked to sit back and listen to the others talk, soaking up as much information as possible without having to say a word. Only around her friends, which were few in numbers, did she break out of her shell and be herself. As the other warrior padded closer to the two she-cats, the tabby just sat there, glancing between the two cats.
