Dewpetal was in the warrior's den, grooming her already-kept pelt. She had to make sure it was perfect - absolutely perfect - before she went onto her warrior duties. She would stay there even if it took all day. I mean, it wasn't like she really had anything better to do. Her warrior duties were just too common and plain. She wanted some kind of adventure in her life or at least something better than just grooming her pelt. It was a bore, just as Dewpetal's whole life seemed to be. She didn't want the excitement; she needed it. Perhaps her duties would bring about something like that, but it hasn't so far. Why must life be such a disappointment? Dewpetal was in the prime of her youth, yet she had nothing to show for it. It made her feel sad.
She sighed, taking a break from her grooming. She laid her head to rest on her paws, using her muzzle to nose around a loose leaf in her nest. Although she wasn't the type to be all that patient, she would wait as long as she needed to for the adventure and alexcitement she sought out, even if it had to start with some soft chit-chat to get her going. At this point, she was practically desperate to find someone to talk to that she would disturb even the grumpiest of her denmates. Now, if only she could find someone to bother.
