If Breezepaw had been expecting these past few days to be interesting, she would have been sadly disappointed - which probably explained the slight sourness of her expression as she dropped the final bundle of clean moss into the elders' den.
While the days-old apprentice had hardly been expecting apprentice life to be a constant whirl of new things to learn and exciting tasks, she had certainly been hoping for more than a few words of greeting, a hurried tour of the territory, and then orders to clean out the elders' den. To be fair, she hadn't deluded herself about cleaning dens; she knew that, as a younger apprentice, she'd have to do the dirty work more often, at least until she started making others respect her. but she really felt that her time could be much better spent actually learning how to hunt or fight, or at least to track, than... Well, than piddling around with moss.
Stifling a sigh, the pale gray-cream-white tabby threw a short glance at the fresh-kill pile before shrugging to herself. She wasn't really hungry; in fact, all the she-cat wanted to do was work out her irritation by actually training. Maybe if she didnt have such a half-wit for a mentor, someone who clearly wanted to be anywhere but training her, she would be able to. Controlling the frustrated growl that bubbled out from her chest, she strode toward the camp exit. Being inside the bramble walls were just rubbing her the wrong way for some reason; she needed open air, to breathe, to think without another cat's complaints getting in the way.
Breezepaw slipped through the low exit, brambles snagging at her short pelt but hardly even catching her attention. She headed a little ways from the camp entrance, flicking her eyes to the orange-streaked sky overhead. Sunset wasn't far off. While apprentices didn't exactly have set training schedules, she figured that Snakepaw would probably be getting off soon. Hopefully he had been having better luck with mentors.
