He's Stupid and He Knows It (Fawn)

This was an impossibly stupid and idiotic thing to do. So of course Jaypaw would be doing it. Having given Bristlepaw the slip and Wrenpaw being kept busy with apprentice duties he was free to do as he pleased. The gray and white apprentice had left the safe and comfortable MidnightClan camp to seek some fun. His choice was, without a doubt, the unexplored Snake Briars.

The odd colouration of his pelt did little harm to his camouflaging ability. It was green-leaf, and a very humid and foggy morning. The rain had gone away leaving a cloudy sky and moist earth. His white paws already muddied as he padded through the unfamiliar setting without a care.

His amber eyes were searching for trouble, and little did he know he would find it very soon. (Or the other way around.)

Shadowpaw crept through the territory as silently as possible. She knew she didn't have to be quiet- now that she was an apprentice, she didn't have to sneak out of camp anymore- but there was still a certain element of fun in sneaking around and causing mischief. And, even if she was allowed to be outside of camp, she had always been cautioned from going near the snake briars. By her mother, her brother, her mentor- but of course the she-cat didn't listen. Where she was forbidden to go was where she was certain to be found.

Suddenly, Shadowpaw scented another cat and dropped into a crouch, trying to make herself as small as possible. She needed to figure out who the cat was- if it was a warrior, then she would need to sneak out of here as quickly as possible. but, if it was an apprentice, she could probably convince the cat to stay, or at least not tell anyone what she was up to.

[Anya]

Jaypaw stomped noisily through, disregarding any danger he drew to himself. He stopped short when he scented another cat nearby. Okay, so he wasn't completely ignoring his senses. He was a cat after all. Sniffed the air he turned his head in the direction where the cat should be. It didn't smell like an outsider so without another thought he was off again, stomping away.

"Ow!" he exclaimed suddenly, the briar had snagged onto his fur and refused to let go.

Shadowpaw listened closely. The noise stopped for a moment, then continued on. Whoever it was, she was surprised that the cat was being so loud and blatant, knowing that he or she probably wasn't supposed to be here.

Then Shadowpaw heard someone call out in pain. Probably stuck to a briar- there was certainly an abundance here. She recognized the voice instantly- Jaypaw. Shadowpaw rolled her eyes- of course it would be him stomping through here. Oh well. At least Jaypaw might be up for an adventure. but first she'd have some fun with him.

"Hey Jaypaw!" she called out loudly, then moved as silently as she could away from where she had been.

Jaypaw turned his head as someone called out his name but his eyes saw no sign of another cat. "Who is it?" he pulled towards the noise only snagging his fur more, and causing him to whimper in pain. "Not funny!" he called angrily. Now how was he supposed to get out without becoming bald and hindering his growing beauty?

"You might as well help me get out," he looked back up, tendrils clenched in his jaws making him sound like he was talking while eating (something he did often), "if you're still there." he mumbled.

Shadowpaw laughed quietly, amused with herself and at the situation as a whole. Shadowpaw, silent as ever, stalked out into the open, her eyes betraying her amusement.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" she mewed, shaking her head in mock disappointment. "Seems to me you've gotten yourself into quite a fix," Shadowpaw continued, padding over to the tom. She then sat in front of him, showing no intention of helping the struggling tom. Of course she would assist in a minute, but Shadowpaw wasn't one to jump right in and help out. No, she'd have some fun for a minute, and play this game her way.

[Anya]

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" she mewed, shaking her head. "Seems to me you've gotten yourself into quite a fix," Shadowpaw walked towards him and sat down. She seemed to have no intention to help him making her presence quite irritating.

"What else is new?" Jaypaw rolled his eyes, "if you're not going to help you might as well leave." his quick temper was being tested as he tried once more to free himself. He wondered if he yowled loud enough, maybe Bristlepaw might hear him. Or...maybe he'd attract more nuisances. Maybe he could send a telepathic link to his sister...that never worked. Well in the end hopefully his mother would run along noticing he was gone. Where was his mentor when he needed him? As he contemplated, his face grew serious -almost as if he were sad.

Shadowpaw sat watching in amusement as the temperamental tom struggled to free himself from the thorns.

"Geez, you're impatient," the she-cat mewed, standing slowly and stretching before padding over and taking a bramble between her teeth, quickly cutting it in half.

[Anya]

Jaypaw stared at Shadowpaw; quite surprised at her actually helping him. "Thanks!" he chriped, instantly changing his grumpy mood back to his cheeky old self. "What're you doing out here anyway?" He asked, shaking his oelt loose of any remaining tendrils.

"Not getting tangled in thorns, unlike someone I know," Shadowpaw mewed with a mischievous grin. "I want to ask you what you're doing, but I'm almost afraid to know the answer," she added, beginning to pad away, flicking her tail to gesture him to follow. "but I guess now that you're free, you can tag along."
