Inky black whiskers twitched at the stench of the sea as it wound it's way into the she-cat's nostrils. Orange cuffed ears sliding backwards in disgust the warrior slowly stretched from her nest and into the middle of the Warrior's Den. Slipping around the mass of bodies the feline made her way eventually into the Clearing with a dragging of paws. Today was another day to train the dreaded apprentice. In her eyes having an apprentice was a good and a bad thing. On the one side she had already one-upped Wildpaw by not only receiving her name but also receiving an apprentice. On the other paw it meant she was distracted from looking for Birchflame. The fire-furred tom had mysteriously disappeared one evening and she was pretty sure he had left to chase after his tabby Clanmate's tail. The thought of him being with her gripped her stomach in an iron claw.
It was utterly repulsive.
He should be with me.
Shaking her fur out and she wandered towards the small clustering of dens that were diagonal from the Warriors dens. Reaching the entrance she called out, "Yarrowpaw, let's go. We don't have much time today." The faster she got past the training portion of her day the quicker she got out searching for Birchflame. Did no one care that he was gone? There had been an awful commotion when Wildpaw had disappeared, and search parties had even been created on her disappearance, but nothing had happened when Birchflame failed to return home. It broke her heart that no one cared.
