Scorchpuddle padded out in to the clearing his eyes heavy with sleep. He blinked slowly and yawned. He glanced at the Sun high in the sky. He grumbled wishing he could just relax and sleep again, but he knew he had to do something. The tuxedo cat tom looked around the clearing when he heard his stomach grumbling. He rolled his eyes and thought darn, I hungry, now I've got to eat. He glanced at the fresh-kill pile to see a nice, plump piece of prey sitting near the top. He licked his lips hungry and stalked towards the pile. He grabbed the piece of prey and then glanced at a sunny spot near the High Rock. He sighed happily as he sat down. He took a big bite of prey. He looked around the clearing hoping a cat would sit with him. He waited.

[Flight of the Thunderbird]

A sleek calico cat streaked out of the warrior den, clearly full of energy and ready to go do something. She had only recently become a warrior, and boy, was she happy about it. Well, I'm hungry, she thought, better go get something to eat. She went over to the fresh-kill pile to get a small mouse, she had a small stomach after all, and then she spotted another cat, Scorchpuddle to be precise. She'd seen him around once or twice, but never talked to him. Well, I should make acquaintces, right? she thought. She padded over to the High Rock where he was sitting and eating some prey, looking up now and then, as if he as looking for for something. The usually shy apprentice held back for a second. Should I really do this? What if he gets angry at me? Buy then,why would he get angry at me? This is a chance to meet new cats, Mapledew. Just do it. A slight breeze ruffled the pretty Calico's fur, and she took a step forward, sitting down beside Scorchpuddle and dropping her prey.
"Hello, I'm Mapledew. Nice to meet you." She dipped her head respectfully.
