Shadowpaw padded into camp from hunting and, for the first time in a long time, she had no prey to add to the pile. For some reason, she had been clumsier than normal today. Even now as she walked her legs felt heavy. And, if she managed to get near potential prey, a spastic cough would send it scurrying away. Her throat felt raw and sore, and her cough didn't seem to be going away. Plus, she was tired and her head hurt. No, this wasn't normal.

Shadowpaw thought about seeing the medicine cat, but then talked herself out of it. After all, she was tough. She would push herself through whatever this was. She just needed a bit of rest was all. As soon as she woke up, she'd be fine, she just knew it. With this in mind, she padde slowly towards the apprentice den, her tail dragging in the dirt behind her.

(For anyone who doesn't know, she has caught green cough.)

Jaypaw was lazing around like usual. His amber eyes flickering from one thing to the next until they landed on a familiar she-cat. "Shadowpaw!" he called out.

Scrambling to his feet he whisked past the playing kits and wove his way through the other cats. "Why do you look so glum?" he flicked her ear with his tail. "You look worse than a dead mouse." he smirked.

Shadowpaw heard pawsteps behind her and turned to see a familiar face- Jaypaw. She guessed they were friends of sorts, though most of the time Shadowpaw just enjoyed harrassing him at every opportunity.

"I'm fine, mousebrain," Shadowpaw mewed, an extra edge to her voice today. She didn't mean to be snappy, but she was naturally fiery and feeling sick just made her more irritable.

As soon as she said these words, however, a bout of coughing ensued, sending tremors through her whole body.
