Why Don't You Speak? (Emberbreeze and Featherears' kits)

A small ball of snow seemed to have fallen into the nursery, suddenly it started to move forward slowly and then a set of deepy blue eyes were revealed showing it was actually a kit. She had a dried up piece of moss in her mouth. She chewed on it before spitting it out and swatting at it rapidly "SPEAK!" she hissed and rolls around before swatting some more, "Are you stupid? Why don't you speak?!". Her ears laid back in frustration, no one had spoken to her yet, while they seemed to just move their mouths as if to mock her. She stared down att he piece of mouth and then turned her anger onto her mother. Storming over to emberbreeze she gave a glare, which looked kinda cute rather than mean, her long feathery tail whipped back and forth and she gave a hiss, it was more of her just opening her mouth and air coming out than a hiss. 

"Mother! Stop ignoring me and speak! You speak to all the others and I know you do!" She bounced around arching her back like she was prepared to attack.

Emberbreeze was sitting with Featherear on the edge of the nursery, watching her kittens play and minding her own business, when one of her little bundles of fluff approached. Emberbreeze let out a purr. "Good morning, Flowerkit," The queen purred. Featherear took a step closer to her, a purr emanating from his large fluffy self. The tom reached down in an attempt to gently tap his kitten on the head with his nose. Emberbreeze noticed that her kit did not seem very cheerful. In fact, she seemed very angry. Emberbreeze was just about to ask what was wrong when Flowerkit began bouncing about as though she were a frog instead of a kitten. Emberbreeze could not stop an amused purr to escape her. "What is wrong, my darling?" She asked, her eyes searching the little kitten. For a moment, worry started to rise up in her belly, but she pushed it back down. It is probably nothing, Emberbreeze mewed. After all, if something was really the matter, Flowerkit would actually tell her instead of just hissing, right?

Flowerkit swatted at her father retreating from his large nose, she gave him a breathy hiss as well and a mean look. The small kit turned her glare onto her mother again, she opened her mouth and moved it like she was talking, and she thought she was, but nothing came out of her. "Why don't you speak to me? do you think it's funny!?" The small kit puffed up her chest believing she was the only one talking, she was confused. She felt her nose start to tingle and her eyes swelled up with tears. She dashed over to her mother and placed her own paws on her mothers foreleg, hoping she wouldn't retreat from her not so violent attack, the small kit began to push on her mothers leg tears rolling down her cheeks as she did "Talk to me!" She sniffled and pushed somemore until her paws hurt, then she simply laid her forehead onto her mothers leg "Do you not want me? Do you not love me like you do the rest?"

The small kit continued to open her mouth with each thought, she believed she was talking, that the voices in her head were being spoken aloud. she didn't understand she was deaf and because of that she didn't understand how to speak.

(OOC: c: if you choose for Emberbreeze to move away then just pretend Flowerkit is sitting there with her head down.)

Featherear recoiled with a sad look on his face. Emberbreeze watched her kitten, concern beginning to flood her head. Why can't she talk? Emberbreeze pondered the idea desperately, but found only one conclusion. She could not ignore it. The she-cat turned to Featherear, who was sitting a bit away looking very hurt and confused, and swiped her paw over her ear. She gave her head a shake. Featherear's eyes widened in shock. Emberbreeze looked down as she felt the little white ball of fur gently attacking her leg. She let Flowerkit take out her frustration on her leg until the tiny kit collapsed. She was lost for words. How was she supposed to tell a deaf cat they are deaf when they don't know that they cannot hear? She glanced to Featherear, looking for help, and the tom seemed just as dumbstruck as she was. For him, the realization came easily. Others would move their mouths but he could not hear them, not to mention any other noises that could have filled a different cat's ears and head. but it seemed as though Flowerkit did not come to that conclusion as he did, and he had no idea how to let her know.

The massive fluffy tom crouched down until he was on Flowerkit's level. He then touched his ear with his paw, and then shook his head a couple times. Maybe she would somehow understand his language, even if she had not ever seen it before. After all, it was relatively straight forward.
