Silvershade was tucked away deep in her mossy nest lined with feathers. She had been curled up, asleep, as the sun barely began to push it's way into a darkened sky. When suddenly a ripple of pain shot through her from nose to tail-tip. The first contraction of many passed through her- the kits were on the way. "Sleekwhisper!", she called for the tom, but already another pain was overtaking her and the words became nothing but a small whisper. The silver queen slunk farther into her nest and laid on her side, her abdomen beginning to shudder and the she-cat had already pushed out the first kit. She attempted to turn and release it from the sack that enfolded it, but she didn't have the time before another pain ripped through her small body. "Someone get Sleekwhisper.. please.." She begged to no one in particular, her yellow-green eyes glazed with pain. Another queen was on her paws in an instant. A white and silver-patched tabby that had moved into the nursery not long ago. She darted out into the clearing and headed straight for the warriors den, calling for the black pelted tom.

OOC: I'm on an old phone right now with an actual literate keyboard so I'm really sorry if this is crappy or something.
"Sleekwhisper!" The call could be heard from across the MidnightClan camp. Sleekwhiper's ears perked up. He would know what type of cry that was anywhere. It was the cry of a queen going into labour, and he reconized that particular cry to be Silvershade's. What, now? Why now? It's the middle of leafbare, and greencough is spreading though the camp! It's the… Well, I hate to say it, but it's the worst time to have kits, he thought. Well, better roll with it.
He ran towards the nursery, only pausing to get a stick. He heard from someone that it helped the pain or something.
"Silvershade! Silvershade, are you okay?" he asked in worry for the silver tabby queen. "Hey," he meowed gently, padding over to her. "I brought you a stick. I heard it helps with the pain. Bite it when the kits come." He dropped the stick gently at her paws and nudged it towards her.

[Ferretpaw]

Ferretpaw was laying lazily in the clearing of the camp, worn out already from this crazy clan Ferretpaw sniffed. The cool bite of snow sickened her. but then again she didn't really want to face the apprentices just yet. A yowl made her jump out her fur. It came from the Nursery! Out of curiosity she inched over quietly. Ferretpaw didn't known if she was welcomed here yet still.

The silver she-cat grasped the stick between her jaws and bit down hard as more pain began to swamp her. Her sharp teeth embedded deep into the stick as she pushed, another contraction sending a new wave of pain rippling through her, and another small body slid onto the mossy nest behind her. Her ears angled backwards towards the two kits, both of them still within the sacks that held them, trying to motion for Sleekwhisper to set them free and make sure they were okay. She didn't have the time or energy to do it herself as pain wracked her body. She just had to hope that the black tom beside her would do it for her, along with anyone else that may be near by. She wouldn't be able to live with herself if she lost on of her kits because of her own exhaustion.

[Flight of the Thunderbird]

Sleekwhisper watched in worry as the second kit came. Silvershade seemed to be in an enormous amount of pain, judging on t how had she bit into the stick. And that was very hard. So hard, Sleekwhisper thought the stick would break.
No, be didn't notice the apprentice standing at the nursery entrance. This moment was too importantimportant, too important to pay attention to anything else. He saw Silvershade weakly flick her ears towards something- the kits? He rushed towards where the kits were, two so far. They were still in their sacks, and he quickly bit the sacks open, and two little kits tumbled out. He watched as they breathed their first breath if air in the world, let out a relived sigh, and started gromming them. They we're all squirmy and it was almost like they didn't like it, but he kept licking them until they were clean.
"Silvershade, fighting," he whispered. "There's not far to go now."

The silver she-cat's eyes shined happily as she watched Sleekwhisper free the little kits. She could hear their little mews and see them squirm against his tongue, showing they were as healthy as they could be. One had her silver fur and the other was black, just like their father. A few fleeting seconds there was sadness and happiness, and she forgot all about her pain. That was until another contraction racked her body, and she quickly snatched up the stick once more. A pained groan, another push, and there was already another little kit being welcomed into the world. In between the spasms of pain, she reached out a paw and scooped the two now-clean kits up to her belly. She wanted to thank Sleekwhisper for helping her, but she knew there would be time for that later. She motioned back towards the newly arrived kit. These actions only lasted for a few moments before another painful contraction gripped her small body in pain. but with her kits snuggled against her belly, she found new strength. A few more pushes and another slid out beside it's littermate. Oh, Starclan, please tell me I'm almost done! The pain was beginning to turn into a weak, phantom ache that spread throughout her body. Her usually bright green eyes looked dull and clouded. but she knew she couldn't give up until all her kits were safe and welcomed into their new world.
