Petalbreeze pushed her way out of the warrior's den. She still wasn't used to sleeping alone, without Pinestorm to lay with it was hard for the pale she-cat to sleep. After moons of sleeping so close, an empty nest was a nightmare. but as much as Petalbreeze wanted to stay in and not leave, she had an apprentice. For the first time in her life it was her turn to have someone depend upon her. What if I mess this up? What if I can't train them? Thought after thought, worry after worry circulated through the she-cat's mind until one last thought; What would Pinestorm do? Certainly not mope and worry. She would just dive in. Right? Yes, yes.
Petalbreeze may carry the guilt of her best friend's death, but she also carried Pinestorm's spirit now.
The small she-cat sat her self out in front of the apprentice den hoping to catch Tumblepaw. Maybe they could test her swimming abilities, Petalbreeze was sure she could have some true confidence if they were in the water.
