A normal day in LeafClan... (TAGGED AND OPEN!!)

Poppypaw padded into the camp, her paws crunching on the snow. She set down the skinny mouse she had managed to catch. This thing won't even feed a kit, let alone a Clan. This is hopeless. She sat down by the fresh-kill pile to groom and rest. "I should probably go back out..." she said to herself. Groaning, she picked herself off the ground and reluctantly started for the entrance to camp.

When the sun rises...

The cream coloured she-cat padded through the camp. A thin layer of frost covered the ground, and in some places thick layers of snow were piled up. The apprentice's pelt was ragged and frosty. but her violet eyes were bright with hope. In her mouth was a bundle of moss which had once been wet with water. She had used it to mop her friend Beechpaw's fur. So many cats were sick. Too many.
As she padded past the entrance, her mind began to wander. She was so distracted that suddenly ankther pelt crashed into hers as she bumped into another cat.

Poppypaw yelped as someone crashed into her. "Watch it!" she hissed. A cream colored she-cat had moss in her jaws. The cat looked exhausted. "Sorry." mumbled Poppypaw, "I'm just a little on edge." She noticed the cream colored cat's frosty fur. "What's your name? I'm Poppypaw."

OOC: I think they will be great friends!

When the sun rises...

She picked herself up and untangled herself from the other apprentice. The bundle of moss fell from her jaws and Morningpaw hurried to pick it up again. She turned to... Poppypaw was it? and smiled. "Don't worry, I'm fine. My name's Morningpaw". She sat down on the icy ground and wrapped her tail over her paws. 

...Hope is born

Poppypaw licked her paw in embarrassment. "Sorry about that, Morningpaw! Who's the moss for?" The moss could have been for anyone at this point. So many cats were sick and it was impossible to feed everyone and find enough prey. "Well whoever it is for, I hope they get better Morningpaw."

She smiled. "It's okay, really". The little bundle of moss was dry now, all of the moisture sucked out. There was no need for it anymore. She bounded over to the edge of camp and left it in a little pile before padding back over to her denmate. As she thought about her sick friend, Morningpaw's violet eyes looked down at the snowy ground. "My friend Beechpaw's really sick. I was just giving her some water".  She looked away for a moment at the bare tree tops that towered above the camp. "What about you, do you have any friend or family who are sick?"

Poppypaw whimpered as Morningpaw said Beechpaw was sick. "I've seen Beechpaw around camp. She seems really nice." Poppypaw frowned at the next question. "I was sick myself at the start of leaf-bare but I recovered luckily." Having greencough was horrible... "Maybe we should go and hunt for Beechpaw. How does that sound?"
