Newleaf had finally come, although all that snow did leave quite a mess as it began to melt, cats began to complain about all the mud and left over snow, how it was still cold. Not Applepaw she was just happy leaf-bare finally ended, it made her more upset then what she already was, he mentor had disappeared and that was the only cat she had ever truly talked to and connected with. She felt like she was in her little shell again with no one to comfort her. Applepaw had always had a very strong fear for high ranks, even know when she was older then some new warriors she simple feared them for their rank. she just hoped she would become a warrior soon. Blinking her multi-colored eyes open she was once again faced with the emptiness of the apprentice den, all the other apprentices had left with their mentors.
Applepaw sat up for a moment giving her long tortoiseshell pelt a nice grooming, she didn't bother with her white paws, what with all the mud she was about to step into. Walking out of the den she was glad to see a lot of the mud had dried up, but what hadn't felt cold and icky on her paw pads. Eyeing the fresh-kill pile she headed over to it wearily making sure there was no one at it when she got to it. Staring down at what was left from yesterdays kill she picked quickly with not much to choose from and walked a few paces away with a mouse. Finding a hard piece of ground with little stumble of grass beginning to break through she laid down and took a small bite from the mouse too deep in thought to really concentrate on whats he was eating.
