Milkfish padded out of the warriors den with a yawn. As she walked aroung camp, kicking up rocks she felt the need for some mint leaves. Her tail swished as she began to leave camp before remembering her apprentice, Mothpaw. Poor Mothpaw must have been waiting for me to wake up and train him! Her eyes scanned the camp as she looked around for him. "Mothpaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw? Where are yooooou?" she called out as if she was playing hide-and-seek.

Off to the side of camp was a small ball of dark fur sunbathing contently. The sun was growing taller in the sky and a gentle breeze made it hard for any cat not to enjoy the lovely weather. His amber eyes remained shut dispite a people attempting to disrupt him. It was so annoying. He had even snapped at a older apprentice for bugging him and called her some rude names before she ran off, shocked at his sudden outburst. In fact, the only time Mothpaw rose to his feet since daybreak was when a soft and kind voice hit his short ears. It was Milkfish, his lovely mentor. Now that, he didnt mind. Jumping to his dainty paws, he practically ran other there, a smile on his face."Hi Milkfish. Training time?" He questioned, wasting no time whatsoever. All of his siblings had gone out to train already. Mothpaw on the other hand, hasnt. Even Eaglepaw boasted about how he can hunt and fight a little bit now and the poor boy only has three legs!

The white she-cat purred "You could say it was training but I'm thinking of it as more of an experience" Milkfish emphasized the word as if holding a surprise. "Think of this as a day to not only learn, but to have fun!" She still felt guilty about forgetting to train Mothpaw and with the soft whisper of "I'm Sorry," she headed out of the camp's entrance. She hoped Mothpaw could be the best warrior the clan had ever had but she'd never place the pressure of her faith and hope on him. Unfortunately, it couldn't be helped that he would have to go into battle. She worried about his safety as she did the rest of the clan but now she would be responsible for ensuring his ability survive. With Talonclan atop a mountain, battles over territory didn't happen as much as with the other clans and even so, Talonclan boasted powerful cats. Mothpaw already knew enough about their territory he should learn about the forest below. Milkfish continued down with an excited step on each way down the mountain, head held high. I hope he likes it as much as I do!

Mothpaw cocked his head to the side slightly as he heard a soft "I'm sorry." slip from the white warriors mouth. Possibly this so called experience wasn't very exciting or she was apologizing for not training him. Either way, he was fine with it. Finchpaw, that crazy sister of his, normally taught him a few things about fighting and hunting, but he dared not to go out of camp with her. She once took 3 kits out to explore and was found in a cave 3 days later. Mothpaw was ripped away from his thoughts when rocks started slipping under his dainty paws and rolling down the mountain side. Extending his claws for a better grip, Mothpaw easily made it down to the forest below, rather proud to know that few cats from another clan could pull that off as easily as he could. "So, what are we going to do?" the Bengal questioned, unsure. It was hunting, as that was training and he already knew the territory rather well from when his parents took him out to see it as a kitten. Maybe they were gathering herbs for the medicine cats.

Milkfish turned to him excitedly, "We're going hunting, doing training, and collecting some mint leaves!" she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "You're used to pebbles under your paws and most of your time is on the mountain. You barely get to come here though, and if you do, expect the unexpected!" The she-cat's white fur bristled and her eyes narrowed though her claws remained sheathed. Only her bared teeth were sharper than the viscous glare she had. Her body formed into an attack position before she leaped at the apprentice

Mothpaw has, and always will be sharper than most. The second his amber gaze meet her blazing orbs he knew what would happen, and frowned upon her training methods, although he knew that they would not only prepare him for surprise attacks but also teach him to think on his feet. The toms suspensions were confirmed when the older cat crouched down into the attacking stance. Faster than light itself, the dark patterned fur on his back and neck stood up and his eyes narrowed, making him look twice his size and fierce. Noting how her claws were not put the apprentice decided it would be wise to do the same and kept his long black claws hidden, although he didn't hesitate to bare his teeth at the creamy furred warrior. As Milkfish leaped at him, the Bengal quickly stepped back and got into an attack position, thankful that he had been play fighting since he could walk. but he was still at a disadvantage. Surely she would go easy on him, but the struggle was how foreign the grassy flat land was under his paws. but nonetheless Mothpaw was determined to when this fight. He quickly made a attempt to pounce on Milkfish, letting out a loud battle cry.

The milky colored she-cat, though training Mothpaw for battle, had the sincere wishes of not harming him despite if she were to get harmed in the process. This meant she would try to hurt him badly but she intended to still train him as if she were trying to hurt him. After missing the apprentice, Milkfish's small paws landed on the ground with ease as if never intending to hit. She had only meant to surprise him and being smaller than the large cats talonclan usually had, her attacks were usually weak especially since she didn't want to cause any cat pain. The long and lithe figure she had made a fast and she used this advantage. Milkfish had no trouble avoiding the bengal and used the damp grass to slide farther than normal. There weren't many trees by the base of Talonclan's territory and grass wasn't enough of normal territory unless Mothpaw was a scampering Windclan cat. I'm sure a Windclan cat would run away, isn't that what they do? A quick flash of softness appeared in her dim eyes before they returned to the glare they had held but something was different. Instead of the brutality of an enemy they showed thinking, as if about what to do next. She slid back at Mothpaw with a hit from her front paw aiming at his head. Instead of hitting, it swerved at the last moment and she ran past him. Now farther from him and at his side, she ran deeper into the forest before stopping and turning with a kits happiness and cheerfully calling out, "Catch two prey, anything but a bird. after each catch you will carry it around and protect it, continuing into the forest. You can catch something else after you put your prey in a tree. When you're done, find me!" Quickly turning, she bounded away and out of sight.

The dark tom growled lowly as Milkfish fled into the forest and decided to surprise attack her, which would be easy as he was a great climber and extremely stealthy. Using his long black claws, the Bengal jumped up off of his powerful hind legs and dung into the soft wood of the trees. Scampering up the tree, Mothpaw was thankful for the green foliage that hide him from both prey and Milkfish. The Talonclanner kept an eye out for a creamy colored pelt rushing through the forest and made sure to keep up with her but also remain as quite as possible, silently thanking Starclan for his parents training and is siblings teachings. Upon hearing Milkfish's call, the tom drew to a halt and begun to search for the prey, which was plentiful this time of year. Before long, Mothpaw paws amber gaze picked up slight movement directly below him the trees roots, gathering food. With out hesitation, the apprentice drove down, claws outstretched and aimed for the squirrels neck. Luckily the small woodland creature didn't see the attack coming in till it was too late. Gathering his prey, Mothpaw started to run as fast as possible in the direction his mentor had, knowing he would encounter another piece of prey. After running and a runaway mouse, Mothpaw found a rabbit with its back turned to him. Dropping his squirrel quietly, he got into a hunters position and slowly creeped up on it. He pounced, pinned it, and bit the animals neck to kill it quickly. Collecting his prey, the Bengal rushed to catch up with Milkfish.
