A Tour of the Territories {Mid/Open}

[Foxpaw]

Gustleap slowed to a steady gait as she got farther into the territory. She was going to show Mistpaw all of MidnightClan and fun as it was, she couldn't do that running full blast. She waited for her apprentice, tail waving like a banner, the run having made her feel even more alive rather than tire her.

[Midnight]

Mistpaw crouched low. She saw her mentor ahead and picked through the undergrowth, knowing she made noise. Mistpaw tried her best to keep quiet, but found it hard. She walked forward lowly for a bit, then leaped, yowling a low and fake battle cry. "Gustleap!" Mistpaw had no idea how well her 'attack' had gone.

[kiba]

Shadowstep bounded after the two she-cats. "Hold up! Can Shadowpaw and I join you?" he asked, wincing as his chest began to sting a little. He licked the fox wounds. He knew that if the foxes had stuck around then two strong warriors could handle it much better than one strong warrior. He glanced back, hoping he hadn't lost his apprentice.

[Foxpaw]

Gustleap felt her whiskers twitch in amusement as her apprentice tried to get the best of her. Swift as lightning, she dodged the apprentice's attack, and leaped on her in an attempt to pin her. "Sure, Shadowstep!" she mewed cheerfully even as she tried to shove her paw in her poor apprentice's face.

[kiba]

Shadowstep purred at her. "Thank you," he mewed, bowing his head. He looked at her apprentice. "Mistpaw, isn't it? You're going to have to be faster and sneakier than that," he mewed, chuckling a bit.

[Midnight]

Mistpaw yelped in playful shock. "Oof!" She grunted as a paw went down on her face. The apprentice mrrowed in laughter and kicked out her legs, "Get off me!" She listened to Shadowstep, "Yeah, I'm Mistpaw!"

Shadowpaw bolted after her mentor, trying to stay close. She slowed to a stop and rolled her eyes at her sister. Such an idiot! She thought, shaking her head slowly, she hasn't trained yet... How could she really have expected to best her mentor?

[Foxpaw]

Gustleap jumped off her apprentice, laughter shining in her eyes. "Next time step lighter and check to make sure you're downwind," she advised with a grin. "Don't worry, with you're eagerness, you'll probably learn quickly. but there's plenty of time for that later. For now, borders." She dipped her head politely to Shadowstep. She was just about to dash off in the lead when she remembered he was there. He seemed to be one of Midnightstat's most trusted warriors and was her senior, after all.

[Midnight]

Mistpaw's claws sank into the dirt and she kneaded the ground in anxiety. The new apprentice looked over at Shadowstep, her eyes glowing with excitement.

Shadowpaw shuddered. She was just about always embarrassed about her littermates, her other Clanmates, or all of them. They always managed to act stupid to her somehow. Shadowpaw rolled her eyes and looked to her right, not wanting to be apart of the situation.

[kiba]

Shadowstep purred at what was going on before him. His whiskers twitched a few times and bowed his head towards Gustleap. "I guess I'll lead then?" he asked, before heading forward, paws oddly light on the undergrowth even for his weight. He knew that if any cats were hunting around here, they would surely not forgive him if he scared off their prey.

[Foxpaw]

"After you," Gustleap mewed with a nod. She trotted after, long legs coming up high in the air with every step but landing with surprising quietness. They made their way towards the first border. "What can you two smell?" she asked, eying the two apprentices.

[Midnight]

Mistpaw opened her mouth to take in the scents around her, "Mouse.. Some stale traces of vole... Bird, too, maybe?" It was probably obvious that the she-cat would make a good hunter like her mother.. She had a good sense of smell to boost the theory.

Shadowpaw opened her mouth and shrugged, not being able to scent anything. She would probably end up a better fighter than hunter and had a poor sense of smell like her grandmother, Midnightstar.

[kiba]

Shadowstep nodded towards Mistpaw. "Good, good," he mewed. He then looked at his own apprentice. A small purr escaped him. "You have the same sense of smell as Midnightstar. Can't track a mouse even if it was right in front of your nose. but that's okay. I'm much better at fighting than I am hunting," he stated, resting his tail on her shoulder.

[Foxpaw]

"Great job, Mistpaw," Gustleap complimented impressed. She mreowed with laughter at Shadowstep's comment. "I enjoy a good fight myself. MidnightClan needs more hunters. Most are better at fighting, and we so rarely fight," she mewed, nudging her apprentice encouragingly.

[Midnight]

Shadowpaw nodded, a bit embarrassed, although she knew it didn't really matter since every cat was different in their skills. "Fighting requires much more thinking and skill, really.." The apprentice said, her voice monotone.

Mistpaw's eyes beamed with happiness at the praise she received and the fact that she was going to be a good hunter. She tried to scent more prey out and managed to track a bird. The long-haired she-cat stalked the bird for a bit before pouncing. She missed only by a whisker length, but the bird flew away before Mistpaw could regain some momentum and swat it or something.

(Momentum's probably not exactly the word, but I couldn't think of one, lol! XD)

[kiba]

Shadowstep nodded. "Exactly. You got to be ready for everything in battle," he mewed. He then leaned down. "Kind of like this," he whispered so only she could hear. He then looked at Gustleap and her apprentice. He bunched up his muscles and took a leap, hoping to land on Gustleap's back and pin her to the ground playfully.
