Name:
Icefang
Age:
Sixteen moons.
Gender:
She-cat.
Appearance:
Icefang, despite her cold name, is a relatively nice-looking cat (her name comes from her sharp and unpleasant tongue). A dark, fluffy tortie, Icefang has dappled black, gold and brown markings and golden/green eyes. Her markings are very small—the most pronounced of them being a patch of gold around her right eye. Her toes are gold as well, but the rest of her is speckled.
She has a stocky (but still lean?) figure under her medium-long hair (which no one usually sees unless she’s fallen into a puddle or a river or something and her fur is plastered to her body), and with her fur appears just as large as a tom. Which she is sometimes mistaken for from a distance when people can’t see the mottled tortoiseshell of her coat. The way she holds herself does not help that in the least, for she usually lacks the grace and dainty natures of most females.
Personality:
Icefang’s name is derived from her sharp tongue. A somewhat unpleasant cat, her only friend is Silvertail—if you could call them friends. He probably would, but she refers to it as a “grudging acquaintance”. She tends to attack first and ask questions later when it comes to the other clans, a flaw that constantly infuriates the other clan members. Though she will obey the orders of higher-up warriors—as she is newly graduated—she doesn’t exactly have to enjoy doing so.
However bitter she is, she has a soft side when dealing with certain issues. If she doesn’t like someone she won’t give him or her the time of day, so even if she sneers and acts rude towards a cat it doesn’t necessarily mean she doesn’t like them. And as impulsive she is, she’s still loyal to her clan through and through and would willingly give her life for it.
History:
Icefang was one of three kits in her litter, and the only female. Having two male siblings roughens you up a bit, and Icefang is no exception. Nevermind that one of her brothers turned out much more sensitive and gentle than she did. After their mother died giving birth to them, she and her siblings were taken care of by various other queens. Most, if not all, were not entirely too fond of the snarling ball of mottled dark fur that preferred to try to sneak out of the nursing den to ravage and attack the fresh-kill pile than sleep or play with the other kits.
During apprenticeship she progressed quickly, learning to use her strength to her advantage and quickly surpassing the older apprentices in fighting skill. It took her longer to learn to hunt efficiently—much longer—but by the time she graduated to a full-fledged warrior she had settled down some but still retained her frosty attitude. Due to this she most likely will not be promoted anytime soon, but she’s fine with where she is. Some time after her warrior ceremony she caught greencough, and though she survived she is terrified it will come back and constantly overthinks small colds and sicknesses and often keeps the medicine cats more than busy.
Other:
While a great fighter, Icefang doesn’t tend to step lightly and lacks a bit when it comes to hunting skill. Which she makes up for with great stamina and the great camouflage her coat gives her.
All in all, she’s not a bad cat. She’s just a little more reproachful than most.
