Mouse staggered onto his paws, his brown tabby fur wild and ruffled up everywhere in messy sections and his yellow eyes wide and distracted, as if he were staring off far into the distance at something that wasn’t there. His black claws were unsheathed and digging into the ground, and all around his feet his fur and the grass were marked with red from blood, the evidence of a struggle. Beside him there were two cats lying motionless on the ground; one an older white tom, and the other a black and brown kittypet. They had only been passing through, but Mouse’s eyes had narrowed as he glanced back at them again.

“Traitors! Fox-hearts! Trying to pick on other cats are we-?” He growled a bit and staggered away. In his mind he kept seeing the rogues they had encountered in the twolegplace, many moons ago. The rogues that had tormented him and that had picked on innocent cats. “Bear, we should take care of them, shouldn’t we? -Yes we should! Just like before, because they just don’t seem to know when to quit! No,- Not a problem Bear, don’t worry about it! We will do it together!” The brown tom was talking to the air beside him and then laughed as if it had told him some sort of funny joke. His friend Bear, however, was nowhere to be seen in the area, and Mouse was now walking away from the already slain cats. “Those four just start fights wherever they please! And no one does anything about it…”

Snowy leaped down from his twoleg fence, fur fluffed up against the cold. The street lamps threw odd colors and shapes on the ground, and he felt his heart quicken slightly before shaking it off. He flexed his claws onto the cold twoleg stone experimentally, looking rather curious. It had been a while since he had gone on an adventure, what with the cold and rainy weather. but things had dried up at least, and he was starting to go stir crazy.

He passed along, ears perking when he heard a voice. Curiously, he crept forward, peeking around, and saw the cat standing there, muttering. "Umm... Hello?" He called brightly, cocking his head to the side.

A thin, hungry looking tortoiseshell padded through the underbrush, feeling absolutely exhausted. That was when she heard a voice - it sounded like a conversation but it was one sided. Narrowing her eyes and padding into a small clearing , she saw the speaker, just standing there, talking to the air. "What the....?" Koi meowed, head tilting in confusion. Then she noticed the bodies.

Mouse continued to mutter to himself and pad forward until he heard Snowy’s voice. He paused and looked up with his ears pricked and yellow eyes unfocused. He stared directly at the tom, but didn’t seem to be seeing him entirely. There was no flicker of recognition or understanding in his gaze for a few seconds but then he suddenly staggered backward with his ears tilted back and short brown fur prickling up. “Back!? Back again! You fox-hearts! Trying to trick me! Trying to ambush me, are we? I thought we had taught you a lesson! I thought you had run off, but nooo…” Mouse was lashing his tail and bared his teeth as his eyes narrowed. “I’m not a small kit! I’m not a puny runt! How dare you say that to me?!”
