Icestar lifted her head from her paws and looked out at her clan from her den. She let out a small sigh and rose to her paws. Today, she was to announce her new deputy and give out some ceremonies. Before she left her den, the leader arched her back and then padded out to the middle of the camp. She sat down and lifted her chin and called out "All cats old enough to climb a tree, gather around for a clan meeting." She said and watched the cats pour out as her voice rang through the air. Once every one was present, she flicked her tail for them to quiet down and began.

"We have a few ceremonies to preform, but first I would like to announce the new clan deputy. Silversong, you have shown me that you have the bravery and wisdom of becoming LeafClan's new deputy." She said and then turned her gaze to Lightningpaw and Oakpaw.

"Lightningpaw, your mentor will be Frozenstep." She looked at the young warrior "May you pass on your courage and bravery to your new apprentice." She said

"Oakpaw, your mentor will be Palestorm." She glanced at the younger warrior "May you pass on you wisdom and strength to your new apprentice." She said

Sitting with his Clan, Frozenstep simply planned to sit and ignore the ceremony. His name was called and he couldn't stop his fur from fluffing in surprise. Him? Getting an apprentice? Already? Hadn't it only been a few moons? All he could do was stare at his leader- and new apprentice- in shock. He looked like an idiot.

Tangletail padded out of the elder's den, a yawn escaping his maw. Icestar announced apprentices and the new deputy. Tangletail decided it was best not to call out to them - his throat felt a little dry, and he didn't want to take any chances of getting anything. He just whipped his small tail around, and smiled at the others.

Icestar glanced around, looking at her clanmates. Her eyes then laid on Spiderpaw. "Spiderpaw, come forward. You are in need a mentor as well. You mentor will be Tigerfrost." She said and glanced at the tom. "May pass on you strength and courage to your new apprentice."

Spiderpaw nodded and bowed her head. She then flicked her tail towards Frostpaw and Icepaw. "You're still forgetting two, Icestar," she mewed, giving the pretty she-cat a teasing look. She then headed over to Tigerfrost and waved her tail. "Hey," she replied, smiling happily.

Frostpaw and Icepaw sat at the back of the group awkwardly. They were really only friends with each other so not many noticed them much.

Icestar nodded her head at the apprentice. She flicked her tail for the other two come forward. "Icepaw, your mentor will be Spottedflower." She said and looked at the warrior. "May you pass on your bravery and courage to your new apprentice." She said and then turned her attention to Frostpaw. "Frostpaw, your mentor will be Rainstrike." She looked over at the new mentor "May you pass on your strength and wisdom to your new apprentice."

[Midnight]

Her jaw stiffened, her blue eyes became huge, her fur bristled, her paws kneaded the ground. Deputy? The word rang repeatedly in Silversong's mind. I'm the deputy of LeafClan? H-how? How can this be? The silver tabby she-cat gulped, took a deep breath, dipped her head to the leader and shakily said, "T-thank you, Icestar." The doubts came after that, though she held her tongue.

The Bengal descendent's ears perked. Spottedflower purred happily as she was told to mentor an apprentice. Finally! Something interesting to do! "Icepaw, step forward!" Spottedflower mewed, trying to find out which apprentice was hers.

Frozenstep? Lightningpaw thought. The large golden tabby tom looked around, searching for a cat that looked like they could be named Frozenstep. He padded forward, looking at a tom who seemed shocked, "Are you Frozenstep?"

Palestorm? A she-cat, Oakpaw assumed. Maybe she was a weakling. However, since 'storm was her suffix, Oakpaw hoped that she lived up to that name, and was strong and cool; a mentor worthy of Oakpaw.

Icepaw's ears perked. She glanced at her brother and then took a nervous step forward. She then took another one, waving her tail to get her mentors attention. She didn't say a word. The white and black she-cat looked up. She had the normal fur colors of a cat, but her face, paws, and tail were black. She also had black spots on her body. She shifted back and forth.
