Name: Seldomtongue
Age: 25 moons
Gender: Tom
Appearance: Seldomtongue's coat is not dissimilar to that of his Chartreux breed, his fur shares the same blue/gray hue and the water-resistant short hair. Beneath his water resistant pelt, Seldomtongue has a large, muscular build with short, but finely-boned limbs that aid his reflex speed. Amongst he that also has copper coloured eyes and the distinctive facial structure that comes with his species, that being the 'smile' he constantly appears to wear, which is due to the structure of his head and his tapered muzzle.
Personality: As suggested by his name, Seldomtongue rarely speaks and prefers to observe his surrounding, speaking only when spoken to, or when he feels it is necessary. As with others of his breed, Seldomtongue is affectionate and playful to those whose company he enjoys, although he has trouble expressing it. Naturally his lack of communication skills hinder his ability to socialise, meaning he has few friends within the Clan. Seldomtongue can also be unbearably stubborn in his ways, becoming easily frustrated when he is unable to do something and nor does he appreciate being told he's wrong. This stubborn attitude does have a positive outcome however, Seldomtongue's method of trial and error has lead to an increased intelligence and improved his strategical mind.
History: Although his name appeared odd to clan-mates upon his arrival in the WhisperClan nursery, the reason his mother had chose the name soon became apparent. Though other kits would wail and squeal in the nursery, Seldomkit would only cry out for food. Whether it was due to being a solitary kit without littermates was undetermined, but all that he appeared to his clan-mates was just a quiet, well behaved kit. This remained true until a week before the young cat was assigned a mentor. In his 5th moon, Seldomkit developed an interest in the fresh-kill pile. It may be inclined to believe he wanted more food, although this was proven to be untrue shortly afterward. As with all kits, Seldomkit's foolishness shone through, he believed he had a more effective way of storing prey. And, as with all kits, Seldomkit was wrong. Many cats were woken by a hiss of frustration at moonhigh, as Seldomkit had tried ambitiously to drag a piece of prey larger than him into a holly bush nearby. Only after did he learn that this was an incredibly stupid idea, having been scolded by his mother and been sternly told off by a senior warrior. The scolding only fueled his stubbornness, and resulted in a trip to the medicine cat den as young Seldomkit had tried to show off his plan, much to the delight of the senior warriors, the poor kit was pricked many times over by holly leaves until he was dragged away by his fretful mother.
By the time he had been named Seldompaw, he had become more withdrawn from other cats, frustrated by his failure. This left a daunting task for his mentor as he had to coax the young cat from his shell. It was a long process, spanning two moons before Seldompaw became more receptive to his mentor's teaching. Hunting became a favourite task of his, and he aspired to become as good at it as he could managed. This soon began to show as Seldompaw would manage to be able to consistently catch two pieces of prey when he was taken for hunting patrol. However, this soon became detrimental to Seldompaw's combat skills. When questioned by his mentor about these issues, the young tom merely said that they were useless and he wouldn't benefit from learning them. He kept this attitude up until he was halfway through his apprenticeship when the apprentice witnessed his mentor and other warriors drive off a badger that had stumbled upon a younger apprentice on a hunting mission. This changed Seldompaw's perspective, although he still believed conflict was not the right way to go about things, he understood that he had to learn these skills to defend those who weren't able to. The majority of the ending of Seldompaw's training soon became combat orientated and soon enough Seldompaw's combat skills were deemed 'satisfactory' by his mentor. This was all the validation Seldompaw felt he needed to make it as a warrior, and within the following moons, Seldompaw was made a warrior after having passed his final assessment.
As a young warrior he began to spend much more time with other members of the clan, mainly on patrols with them to try and add improve upon his so far solitary life. Much of the rest of Seldomtongue's life as a warrior has been uneventful, which is of no concern to him. He has spent many moons enjoying the ability to protect and feed his clan, and expects to enjoy many more.
